Will VDC

Will Van De Crommert is a composer for visual media specializing in popular and film music. He is a pianist, guitarist, and vocalist, covering all styles from contemporary to classical.


Will began his film studies with Hollywood orchestrator and composer Sean McMahon (Spiderman 3, Ghost Rider, The Grudge, Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer). During these independent studies, Will received a commission from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design to write the score for Process. The film, helmed by award-winning director Craig Rice, showcased the school's 125 year commitment to art education in the Twin Cities.



Following a composition degree from St. John's University in Minnesota, Will moved to Los Angeles. He spent several months working directly under composer Jeff Rona, whose work appears in blockbuster titles such as Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, and Traffic. In his time with Rona, Will wrote regularly for the studio's premier music catalogue, Liquid Cinema, and made contributions to Jeff's most recent television project on Syfy, entitled Dominion. He has also demoed for Jeff Rona and Nathan Rightnour's company Wide Blue Sound and their newest release, the Orbital Synthesizer.



After returning to Minneapolis, he spent three months as a content contributor at BWN Music writing for the studio's catalogue and submitting demos to commercial clients like Listerine, HP, 5 Gum, etc. This year, Will was the youngest panelist at the Minneapolis International Film Festival and will shortly begin work on his third feature. He is based in Minneapolis.
