I disagree with you here. I have no desire to take Maschine away from my computer; Maschine derives (or will derive) much of its power by virtue of its connection to the computer. Instead of taking Maschine to your favorite misty mountain top, why not take a paper notebook instead? Sketch out some ideas? Then go back to the studio where you have your monitors, Maschines, dongles, and the like. :)

I agree. I'm baffled about why more music software companies aren't adopting the agile development model. I'm a developer, but not an expert on development paradigms. It seems to me agile development is sort of the future of software development. I could be wrong on that, but agile is nonetheless a major development paradigm.

Anyhow, it seems the agile model would allow music software companies to please their customers better. Customers want frequent updates and engagement with vendors. Agile development facilitates that.

The Reaper developers seem to get this, and their customers love them for it.

The direct on the website download works.

The enhanced parameter scaling makes it feel much better.

And with the FX plugin support one of the main issues is solved. Now I hope for some improvements in the sampling/slicing section. But after i realised how nice it works to import own soample directories i am quite happy now :)

    Best regards,
    DerDahli

Meh, none of the bugs I care about have been fixed. I still have a song that gets modified (!) by using the Export Audio option. Using fullscreen mode + spaces on OSX is still broken. There's still the bug that from the second kit on loading takes 10-20x longer with CPU/HDD just sitting idle (PC+Mac, easy to reproduce, workflow killer).

Was there actually anything fixed / added that people here on the forum complained & cared about? ;-)

Hm, I did not experience any problems with increased loading times.

And I do not use audio export, so I think I should not start to use it yet.

Being early adopter is always a bit frustrating... but the perfect integration of Maschine is worth it for me. The difference between hard- and software was never that small. An MPC would not have this advantage.

The perfect integration between the MASCHINE hardware and software is nice, but beyond that there's hardly any integration.

You can't use it as a centerpiece for music production (DAW or MPC like) because you can't output MIDI to sequence external instruments or use any VSTs with MASCHINE. Neither can you use it properly like a plugin because the MIDI in is so limited. In addition there's no file format compatibility to import loops or sampled instruments from anywhere.

Then you add the various obvious bugs and the lack of some really obvious features that absolutely should've been in there from day one. No arpeggiator/scale/chord features in a groovebox? Mod/Pitch wheel of an external keyboard doesn't work? No undo for knob movements? The list goes on and on.

I really enjoy working with MASCHINE overall, it's such an appealing concept. But the one-two punch of lacking the critical features to use it as a standalone and the lack of possibilities to integrate it with other hardware / software make it somewhat impractical right now. All depends on software updates that fix the bugs reported here by many different people and adding the obvious features.

Well, in the end I'm just a bitchy forum user whining that exactly ZERO of his dozen or so bugs have been fixed while mission critical tooltips and invaluable Spanish docs are there ;-)

I had to actually turn the computer off and back on after the update. not just reboot but completely power cycle it.

otherwise cubase threw a fit saying it couldnt find the plugin

I cant be sure yet, but i think the problem i was having where it would sometimes freeze when incrementing through the samples has gone.

Offtopic: i also wrote a question via the contact formular and after 5 days i still didnt get an answer. I wont buy another NI product im afraid!

I have it for Mac on my system. If I was to make a mirror on my server for people to download from, would that be allowed? I don't want to break the rules, but would love to help those in need of it.

    Sorry - that's redistribution.

I sent a heads up to some people about it yesterday; I haven't heard anything back from them.

Ok, no problem. Well if it is by any chance ever ok to do then please let me know and I will create a link or an open FTP for everyone to use.

Could even make it a closed link so that people can only go via the mods or something.

But hey, thanks for getting back so fast on your reply!

    eh?
I cannot see this happening. It`s illegal. Fullstop.

I had problems as well downloading.
I forgot how many times I had to restart the download.
On one occasion there were only a few MB left to download and the server closed the connection.

The was no way to resume, I always had to restart it...

Mine is still collecting dust. We need midi out immediately NI. I guess this is an obvious fact, but I am not sure why this is taking so long to implement.

Downloaded the OSX version twice now. Both times get 'Decompression Failed" on the zip file.

    Is it just me?
