1.1 - Sync Button "intermediate" State. (Half Yellow/Black)

- start tp 1.1
- deck master manual
- set deck A to master (no track loaded)
- click on sync

I get a strange sync button(half yellow/ half black), which can be toggled any more.

can someone reproduce this?

I get this too but I think there is some meaning behind it. For example, load the same track into two decks and switch Master back and forth between each deck. The half-filled sync button will alternate as well.

Haven't had time to figure out what it means - will play with it more later.

 

I think it means that your 'Master' deck is still set to 'Sync' for when you change another deck to be 'Master'?

 

it means that the deck can't be synced at the moment, but that traktor will set Sync on, if a permanent sync is possible again. i called it the "waiting" state

you get the sync waiting state if
- the same deck is currently set as tempomaster (syncing to itself doesn't make any sense)
- if the deck is looped and if the looplength is smaller than 1 beat (1/2, 1/4 etc), then syncing the phase permanent is impossible
- if the track loaded in the deck has no beatgrid (then traktor simply can't sync phase and tempo)

that means as well that the sync state changes automatically from "waiting" to "on", if
- another deck is set as master tempo deck
- if the loop is deactivated or the looplength is changed to a value >= 1 beat
- if a track with a beatgrid is loaded into the deck

 

Excellent call. and good move by NI to include another visual clue as to the current status of the deck.

Did you create this description yourself or is it published somewhere other than the 1.1.1 addendum? If you created it, NI should hire you to help out with docs.

 

thats a snippet from the chapter about clock modes and beatgridding from the traktor bible. yes, i wrote it. the official term for this state is "intermediate", but i think "waiting" is much better
