So I downloaded the update and screwed around with it for roughly 5 hours and here is what I found...

First off, I did have to rework a few of my MIDI commands but for the most part my TSI was salvageable. I imported the new effects and started rocking out after that.

Loaded up 4 decks (running internally) loaded with effects, sync, and scratching with no problems. My CPU meter is running much higher than before (currently around 40-60% with high quality key lock vs. ~25%) but I experienced no issues with sound quality. This is all at 4ms latency, 4 fx banks all running, and 4 decks. If I disable the extra fx slots the CPU usage drops dramatically (something I'll probably do for my Eee PC).

Traktor also seems to load up my collect much faster than before, meaning I'm up and playing sooner rather than later.

The beatslicer effect is the greatest thing since chocolate milk! Seriously, this is the effect I've always wanted :D

Tap tempo finally works and works well I might add. Minimum playtime for play history is also very cool and much appreciated.

The progressive pitch blend is cool but I wish I could assign it for some tempo bend controls and not for others. For instance I would like to have progressive sensitivity for the jogs but not for the tempo bend buttons. Unfortunately you can only assign it to all tempo bend messages.

I have no idea what the difference between "tempo bend" and "tempo bend (stepless)" is. Currently I have the jogs with "tempo bend" and the buttons with "tempo bend (stepless)" however I really don't know how they differ.

I didn't try timecode as my turntables are at my other place but I will check it out when I get back. Also looking forward to running HID with the new Pioneer players when they come out.

All in all an excellent update :)

This is a huge improvement from 1.0 and 1.1. How it should have been released in the first place. I tried to break my gain settings as per rainerh's article on the traktorbible site, and in fact did succeed, but not every single time I edited the file did the gain set to 0. I'd say 1 in 10 did. Still, that's 1 in 10 too many. Boo to that.

Effects sound lovely, and the updated timestretching is top-notch.

We need Global Modifiers as well as keeping the 8 per device that are currently implemented.

Yeah, beta testing was the first time that I've actually started to feel as at home with this product as with the old Traktor Scratch. One more little update to fix the bugs that haven't been mopped up (autogain bug, what is going on with the loop functions?) and then I'm excited for the future of the product.

Still have problems having pro not reading the bpm correctly, I don't understand why this is such a big problem, T3 never had this issue!

I have a track thats 128 bpm and TPRO reads it at 67 bpm wtf?

    Final thoughts, still not impressed!

    Happy Mixing

Set your BPM threshold in the file management optionpage to between 100 and 140 and re-detect the bpm when the track isn't loaded in the deck. that should sort it.

re-detect = select the tracks you wish to analyse again, right click and click detect bpm. If this fails then reanalyse the tracks.

I agree , we have spent a long time beta testing this version, still not happy about the controller manager switching back to keyboard every time you test a modified midi control and the fact that it is like painting your hallway through your letterbox (please guys, make it easier to use, as in a bigger window!) but all in all, a great update. Well done! I have to be honest, although not the done thing, I have been using the various beta releases in live environments over the last three months and all issues that have occurred and that I have reported, have been fixed (fingers crossed!). I am using 1.2.1 in my live set up, there is no going back to 3.4.1 for me! Finally, I get to use Pro!

    Thanks developers, great work.

I just want to say that I'm very, very satisfied with the new version 1.2.1. :D

The Keylock finally works as it should and the new BeatSlicer is awesome

    Keep up the good work!

    Cheers!

I'll jump in early (still haven't had enough alone time with the update to fully judge) and say I'm a super happy customer now.

To me this is how v1 should have been.

    Wave Form Lagging...

    Hi all,

relatively happy with the latest version but noticed wave form lagging or skipping at times during my set on Friday which is very nerve racking, as you feel the audio is the next thing to go, which doesn't actually happen but really needs to be addressed and quick.

    Regards

Maybe NI should reduce audio quality to have a nice wave display,
or even better mute audio at all, so you can totally concentrate on waveform :p

Sorry, I saw this in all versions I had since Final Scratch 2.0 ...
In 1.2.1 this happens more often, thats the price for more features, better keylock etc.

Next hardware generation will solve this small problems ...
and people with cardiac defects should not be a DJ ;)

I’m solely a turntable user with Traktor and I love the update, personally I think the effects probably could be a little better but there ok. Anyways I’m a happy camper :)

    Nice work guys.
Effect button and sliders are a bit small to operate/click with a mouse on a high resolution screen.
Analizing seems to go a lot faster. I'm reanalizing my whole collection (+/-15000 tracks in lossless compression) and in a few hours it already has processed about 75%. With previous TPro, if I recall well it took something like 16 hours or more.
But that could be a result of my windows Vista to Win 7 upgrade to. I updated both in the same week.

I have spent a good 10 hours with this update, reconfiguring the controller, playing a few sets. I have to say its absolutely fantastic. It has definitely fixed all the minor bugs I was experiencing before and also added a stack of features which I have put to excellent use in my new mapping.

The best thing for me i think is the improvement in sound quality with the new fast CPU algorithm, on my set up and to my ears, it definitely sounds clearer and better.

Thanks for a fantastic update guys!
