1.5 cannot open OS 9 instruments I did

...again a nice afternoon working with NI Software, trying to get things started, which should be the easiest.

Most of the instruments, I saved within OS 9, cannot be loaded in OS X 10.2.8. "unexpected error" - all these intruments can get loaded without a problem in OS 9. What is going on?

All the instruments from the NI Library are no problem, just 80 % of my own sample-instruments can not be loaded!!

Is this a well-known problem and is there a solution?

i've had the same thing
i can even drag samples from non loadable instrmuents into a blank key-map
1.5 looks it was never beta tested properly to me

Maybe you have the same prbl I had. Check if you have "Umlaute" in your folder name or path. Hope this helps.

 

I've got lots of problems -
Kontact 1.5 will not open Kontact 1.2 Instruments made my myself it says can't find the samples, but thats not the worse. When I launch a Logic song that contains Kontact Instruments (these are instruments already made in Version 1.5 ) I've got a message that says ' unable to load Kontact Instruments file seems to be corrupted' so when the song opens, I've got to load them manually again, this is if Kontact reaponds, because in most of the cases, I'm able to load the Kontact plug in, but it doesn't respond.

I decided to remove the Kontact audio unit plug in, and convert the Kontact vst plug in to audio units with the vst to audio unit converter. This seems to work, but the strange thing is - when I take this Kontact audio unit plug in out of the components folder, I don't get the EXS 24 as a multi channel any longer.

I have deleated the Logic and midi preferences, re-installed Logic, updated to MAC OSX10.2.8 and I've still got the same problems. This means i've got to go back to Mac OSX9 as I can't work like this.

My gear is G4 Power book 667 -1 gig RAM - Logic Platinum 6.3.1, Motu 828, AMT8 Midi interface, all NI software

 

...hours later I´ve found a solution for the problem, that works already for me.

I don´t know why, but if I´d copied all the instruments, that worked well within OS 9 but did not in OS 10.2.8, from the part of the harddrive where I got all my Audio-Files to the part of the harddrive I once called "Samples", and where all the NI-Samples are located, the Kontakt-Sampler loaded everything without any problem.
If I´m trying to load an instrument or if I`m trying, just to load a sample to Kontakt from any other place of my harddrive, it is not possible to do so.
But it works without problems on the one, where the NI-Samples are based on.
...let´s find out what else is wrong.

that might explain why some of these banks I have wouldn't convert while I'm waiting on them to figure out their kompakt problems.
