So ... is sidechain working in Maschine now or not? Im trying the demo of the new compressors and you can click "sidechain" but ... then what? Manual says it adds two extra inputs to guitar rig .......... which means nothing to maschine last time i checked >.<
Please tell me i missed something!
The Input Level module in guitar rig also have a sidechain switch so maybe no need to get those "way too expensive if you just want sidechain and dont care much for modeled compressor that's been modeled so damn many times before" ..

One update is that now when you make changes to a project thats already been saved then open another project. The software doesn't ask you to save the new changes it just opens up the new project and you lose your changes. Compliments of Komplete 8 integration.

The update was exactly what they said it was going to be. If you had your hopes built up that it would include that surprise feature you were dreaming of, who's problem is that? There is nothing to bellyache about here 1.7 is what was announced nothing more nothing less. It has taken nothing away from 1.6.2. Don't want to buy the items that the new features apply to , don't buy them. Every little thing don't have to be complained about, there are NI customers IMHO who have REALLY been wronged...at this point Maschine is not a part of that. And if you buy EDU you get EDU. That is all.

i completely agree! getting quick ideas out in a format ready for maschine is huge. i would never produce..mix or master a full song on my iphone, but being able to record a quick drum loop, then load it up in maschine and keep going is pretty dope!

    Agree with You all

Also wanted to add no multi-timbral supp:angry: ort. I mean am I the only one who want to use one instance of vsti's like kontakt, sample tank, Philharmonik, etc.. Instruments that have 16 or more midi channels , so I can use one instance of like kontakt with multiple instruments and not kill my cpu with multiple instances of the same plug in that I could use only once.

Didn't anyone of you READ what NI said was going to be part of this update? They were pretty specific as to what this update was about. This was about Komplete integration, that's it. The next updates are going to go back to focusing on Maschine. I don't understand what the issue is, NI has always been very upfront with what each update will have and haven't surprised with feature they never said they were working for release.

According to the on the record, 1.8 should focus on parameter renaming, time stretch is still a long way off though, as is multi-core.

I just don;t see why people are getting worked up over something NI never said was going to be in this update.

load up a empty kontakt, sampletyank etc and see how much load it adds,
yea being able to send various patterns to the same instance is cool, but realistically you can use multiple instances of kontakt sampletank and the extra cpu hit is a non issue.

We all knew this was a K8 integration update only... didn't expect any *wow* with 1.7 but I do quite like the new browser vibe... will be good if we can add our own presets (both for Komplete and third party plug-ins) in the same browser areas. Haven't experimented with this yet.

But with this out the way (and hopefully NI satisfied with their Komplete integration) we can look forward to the next update and *fingers crossed* some of the FRs we've been hoping for to be made reality. :)

I have a term " Not Hip Hop" meaning not cool at all

N.I. you guys I have been praising to clients, colleagues etc.. who either don't know about your stuff that much or kinda like not really. I am in the industry for like 20 years, professionally and I also teach about the technology etc... And I already have like 4 folks emailing me like wtf! . Come on you guys are really smart over there and the things folks have been complaining about since 1.5? We do appreciate all of what you have done in the first place. Created these products that are amazing, creative, productive etc... We Thank you! I mean it shows in all of the sells you guys are getting, out selling your competitors, and hey a lot of it is from refferals, us who work in the audio industry for a living and passing on the word. because we use the products ourselves not salesmen, or demo guys at a store chain, music expo etc.. trying to sell your products. I know I feel like I have been done dirty with this upgrade and nothing for me unless I spend more money . crazy! Not Hip Hop!

It's pretty obvious that this update is an attempt to move Komplete 8, and that is a pretty big disappointment. I understand the need for this update after the last big update was VST integration, but there are at least a few really big things that many people want implemented. Hopefully NI steps up soon on these issues, because I am more and more often firing up Live 8 instead of Maschine to jam and track. For me right now the only advantage Maschine has on Live is the hands on workflow (and it's not even that big of an advantage now that I am using touchAble on my iPad).

And speaking of iPads, I noticed no mention of iMaschine for iPad. WEAK.

I'm not gonna get rid of my Maschine as I am still holding out for things I know are coming - multicore support, timestretch, and a few minor workflow improvements. I feel Maschine definitely has the potential to be a production powerhouse, and hopefully the next update or two will take it to that level. Until then...mine is pretty much a really expensive MIDI controller.

    Multi Timbral

Hey Smithwessen, No doubt. Yeah i know, but It's like a waste of a really great vsti ( Kontakt etc..) Especially when your doing real complex stuff. I guess that is why we still use ( Logic, Cubase, Nuendo, Sonar, Pro Tools ). We will see what happens this time next year. Hey at least we did not have to pay for the 1.7. lol. Forgive me if I mis spelled your user name

NI has a plan and this update was meant to retire older products and introduce new ones. Just make music and stop complaining about small stuff because no matter what DAW u use, they will be something that u dont like but work around.....at the end of day your MUSIC is what matters, not what version 1.7.893rB included!

One of the things that bothers me is they didn't even solve this issue:
"Windows can't stop your 'Maschine Controller' device because a program is still using it. Close any programs that might be using the device, and then try again later."
I did close the Maschine software. So what could possibly be using the controller? I want to unplug it safely, and I want to be able to plug it back in without first restarting my computer.
The fact that they haven't even fixed this issue kind of makes me question their priorities a bit.

no save groups with samples? ouch that kinda stings, that means more time to wait on such a simple request. I'm not too thrilled by this update either, but taoyoyo is right,we all knew this was coming.

    Make Music

Yeah, it is all about the music and not the tools we use. Hey we use to have to go to a studio to do all we can now on a laptop or a deskstop in our homes etc... Now even on your phone! Hey it is all good. Just make the best music you can. Still though as a paying customer we all have a right to voice our concerns and issues with the companies who we keep alive and thriving. This is how they make better products. From us beta testing and complaining abiut what we don't like and what works and don't work. It is all part of the Circle of Life Simba! lol. Hey Guys let's enjoy what is working for us and make music. N.I. will get to all of our concerns.

It has to have iPad support because looking at a iPhone app on the iPad is crazy. Maybe they'll bring a "pro version" out for the iPad.
