I'm very tempted to get one of these at this price... :)

Keir, working at NI you guys will probably be using the discontinued units as bookends and enjoying playing with the new ones :p

To be honest this is my first Maschine. I've thought about getting one for well over a year and wasn't sure if i'd get on well with it as some of the things on the wishlist for features were things that were important to me and plus I wasn't sure if i'd like the maschine way of working.

With the £159 Mikro, extra features in 1.8 coming soon plus Massive, this is me giving Maschine a go. So it's no big money gamble.
If I like it then I may end up getting one of the new big MkII's.
Although I won't be doing this straight away though as i'd like to see user reviews and videos for when A*** drops their new line to the masses as I think i'd prefer the more DAW-Timeline way of working that their software offers, especially for outputting whole songs.
If Maschine HAD a more DAW-Timeline way (or as an alternative) way of working then i'd definitely be sticking with that as it's a more mature product.

Anyhoo, looking forward to getting home after work and getting this Mikro installed and popping my Maschine cherry.

confirm'd, my local dealer is "throwing" them out...
what happened to the big one?
not even Thomann is selling them - i smell a conspiracy Oo

well, i'm also interested in a Maschine, but the Big one seems quite big, the mikro has not the 8 knobs like the Kore, or like the macro knobs in Massive...

hey, wait a minute, how the heck do you control the macro's in massive with the mikro, if you get this within the MKII?

it's tempting, to get the mikro for just that price - besides i allready own massive :p
    and the RGB LED`s?
    hmmm also tempting....

    Pesict,
When the 1.8 update comes out you'll be able to control the makros/knobs with the one knob the Mikro has.

For playing live you could use another midi controller like a Livid Code / Novation Nocturn or even an iPad running Liine's SL-M1 on Lemur to have many hands-on controls.
Sadly these methods can't record automation within Maschine.
I WISH WISH WISH they'd fix this so that it was possible to record automation from other controllers.

Unboxed the Mikro last night and was surprised that it was actually a lot bigger than I thought it would be!

Sadly didn't get it installed because my thinkpad doesn't have a DVD drive - GRRR! So going to have to buy an external one after work today.
I could've made a disc image and run it but I don't install third party software on this computer and never have it connected to the internet so there's no chance of catching anything and ending up losing work (it's happened before!).

alright, count me in - going to unbox my mikro right after backuping my system :D

but its good news for me, if i could use additional Controller like my Akai LPD8 or MPD24 (or even TouchOSC) to control the magic 8 knobs!

well, just let me do my Backup and install the 1.7 (the reason for the backup :p), and explore the maschine world ;)
