    The site says.

Anyone who buys and registers MASCHINE between October 1, 2013 and November 1, 2013 will receive a free download of the MASCHINE 2.0 software when it becomes available on November 1, 2013.

So does anybody know how much 2.0 is going to cost for 1.x.x owners? I assume Its going to be between $100 and $200.

I feel I can get all I want done with what I already have, but I would like to know the price. If its reasonable, I might bite.

    thanks

They way they just roll out products and pre orders, we may not hear anything until it's closer to 11/1/2013. I'm Surprised you are just getting the update and not the whole studio.

Why's that? I am very happy on my Mk2. Maybe at tax time I will consider the Studio but I want to get my hands on it first. Would also be good to see an upgrade price for the hardware. Maybe that's something we are waiting on and why NI has not released any pricing info.

So the update for existing users is €99.
I don't want to sound cheap and I am not going to be rude now, but... **** off.
Definitely not going to pay to finally get (some) of the features that have been requested for years.

So, did you only buy Maschine because of what you hoped it would include someday? That doesn't sound smart.

Did you accidentally buy Maschine without realizing it didn't include some of these new features? Sounds like you should have returned it immediately, and perhaps done more research on what you were buying.

Did NI promise that if you bought Maschine, they would eventually include stuff you wanted, and for free? I don't remember them saying that.

You bought Maschine with a particular feature set. NI did not ignore your requests for new features; they implemented them in this release, which costs money. This software was completely rewritten from the ground up. Please explain why any company would spend time and money on an expensive software rewrite only to give it away to customers who have already gotten great use out of their original purchase.

When you buy ANY product from ANY company, you are not guaranteed a lifetime supply of that product including all future iterations of the product. If Maschine didn't meet your expectations, you should have gotten rid of it. $100 is extremely reasonable for all these extra features/synths/etc, regardless of what you THOUGHT should have initially been included.

I agree with your statement except this part.

One product that comes to mind is FL Studio. When you purchase their suite, you are given their updates forever.

Also, apple devices get free updates as well unless the hardware is not compatible. It sounds like MK1 and MK2 owners will be able to use their hardware with it. Why not give it away free (or at least at a discount) to loyal customers?

Most of the time, I don't mind about paying for an upgrade.
But i finally bought my maschine mikro mk2 last saturday, after months of waiting and hesitation.
In 1 months, my maschine mikro mk2, will be outdated unless i spend an aditionnal 99 Euros.
1 months and 3 days after my purchase.
    That's a bit harsh....

You don't get what I am saying. Which is fine, just don't pretend that I said something against Maschine oder that I am not happy with it.
But when I buy a piece of Hardware, and it gets firmware updates, I expect those updates to be for free. If, in that case, the firmware is sort of the software you have to use with it, then I want the update for free, yes.
It's not like Apple decides to charge for iOS7, because they make their money anyways, as does NI with the new Maschine hardware.

If you bought it last week you can always speak to NI they may put you on the free upgrade list since its so close to the grace period. Doesn;t hurt to try.

That is the discount. You can pay $99 for the software if you already own a maschine, or get it by paying $999 for the new maschine studio.
