    Where do these tags go?

I've had traktor scan 10,000 tracks adding key detection data to all tracks. But there is no key information. I know traktor has update the id3 tags because they are in my most recent modified files list (all files folder on mac) but even so nothing changes in traktor.

I took advice from above about going into edit and adding an additional tag (comment2) plus key. I did this and lost the name of tracks (test done on one album) but they are visible when dragging a track to a deck but disappear again when dropped in.

I've got 20,000 more tracks i am planning to move to itunes so i can sync metadata with ipad Traktor. But i wont till i understand whats going on.

    Any ideas?

traktor uses a private tag to store it's own info into teh tracks

Not sure if this has been answered, but if I restart traktor after importing an itunes playlist, the key will show up again....

Here's a workaround I use to utilize the Key tag in iTunes. I use MP3 Tag to copy the %initialkey% tag to one iTunes uses. I used the %composer% tag. To get iTunes to update the tags changed in MP3 Tag, I select my entire library and change one of the fields to something. I keep my comments field blank to do this, as I find that field works every time. After iTunes has completed this task, any tag edits done outside of iTunes will now show up in iTunes. So my Composer field contains the songs Key. The composer field can then be used to create smart playlists.

    It's a little round-about, but it works.

Oh...now I see the big problem...I imported a smart playlist from iTunes & lost info in a bunch of tags, now after re-starting Traktor, it's repopulating those tags. Very slowly.

it's a year on and no progress here. NI chose to integrate iTunes into Traktor so definitely NI's job to make sure the integration works. also +1 for smart playlists. waiting over 4 years for this. Serato users have always had this AFAIK

sincerely, what Native Instruments is waiting for ? having smart play list, the "Grouping" field like in Itunes and above all on the fly sorting with a taylor made by column presentation also like in Itunes is a must have for a professional DJ software in 2014...
