(Playing with it) Looks like you can audition the sound as you scroll through the virtual instrument presets in the Maschine browser. Similar to how it works when you browse through audio samples in the Maschine browser.

Yeah. It works by loading 7.5GB worth of samples. I’m guessing a team went through each instrument and sampled it

    Can 2.6.8 coexist with 2.6.9?

I can verify this is broken as Reefs mentioned. 2.6.8 didn't have this issue. Standalone...works as it's suppose to....in DAW...nope! Hope they can update this with a fix.

There is a workaround: Open the mixer, make sure you're on group level, then click 'IO' to show the routings and enable MIDI for the group. This will make 'Manual' mode work properly.

For those of us who've not yet got the mk3, Is it worth updating to 2.6.9, or do we wait for 2.7.0?

Or do we simply accept NI has the right to reneg on the previous DAW compatibility changes ;)
Note, for me a Mk3 upgrade would only be viable if it allow full unhindered integration with other DAWs.

I haven't downloaded and installed the 2.6.9 update, but it's there in my NA. There is also an update for KK in my NA, but there is no install for the preview library. Do you have to install 2.6.9 and the KK update for the preview library to be accessible?

Read elsewhere that the preview libraries are being rolled out on a staggered basis, so be patient and you'll see it soon.

2.6.9 is not just about the new controller's compatibility, it also has bugfixes but then again it has a couple of new bugs of its own, so consider all of that and decide if its worth updating.

    well, hello there

i'm thinking of jumping from mpc to maschine and get myself the new mk3.
    having some questions:

    1. quantize notes individually; is it possible to qunatize only certain notes in your pattern in the %-amount you want. for example quantize only the snare with 27% tc and 43% swing. i'm used to this workflow from mpc software and logic pro x.

    2. i have a motu interface which is connected to my turntable and my 2 analog synths. can i route different channels into maschine software, for example; polysynth 1/2, turntable 3/4, monosynth 5 and so on?

    thanks for some help

1 - Yes. You can quantize and swing each pad/sound individually from each other.
2 - Yes. You are limited to 4 Stereo Inputs though.

Psssttt... He asked about quantizing individual notes, not Sounds, which can't be done in Maschine the way he describes. It's a different system.

    Here we go again.
He said "certain notes in a pattern", by a pattern one assumes several sounds/pads, therefore a group. He didn't say certain note events of the same pad/sound, he said "quantize only the snare" by only the snare I assume he is talking about all the notes of that snare... -.-

Oh, come on. No need to be like that. :)

I definitely see what you mean. It was just the part about quantizing by a particular percentage as well as the "certain notes" parts that made me think that precisely what he was wanting is not possible. However, with 50% quantize and nudging by 1/128 notes etc., I don't see a problem other than it being a different system to the MPC.
