I know you know... however, if we want to be technical then even that is possible by automating the swing amount and cycle. We cant "apply" it but we can have swing percentage and time division changes in the same pad/sound. Not exactly the same as applying quantize but does the same.

Now bow down to my greatness and admit you were wrong! :D:p

No. That's not even remotely the same. Your method is a nice technique, but it is not a substitute for quantizing individual notes. Nudging with the grid off is closer to quantizing by percentages, but even that is different because, I said and as you know, swing and quantize in Maschine is just a different system than the MPC.

And you can apply it by dragging and dropping the MIDI within Maschine. ;)

    Edit: Sorry, forgot this: :)

sorry for the misunderstanding guys – i'm new to the maschine terms. ;)

what i ment was quantize for example just all the hi-hats in a drum pattern, and leave the other drum-sounds as they are with no quantisation.
i was a little aware that you only can can quantize by 50% or 100%.

So, yes, you can quantize only certain notes by selecting them first, but, as you say, you can only quantize by 100% or 50%. Unless you wrap your head around @D-One's crazy swing modulation technique. :p

hm, kind of a bummer. i love the way you can quantize in logic pro x – so flexibel.
but can you nudge the individual notes?

Absolutely. And in teeny-tiny increments, so your notes can live wherever you want them to live.

ok. so lets say if i want to quantize the snare in my drum pattern for like 23% in 1/16 notes i have to apply swing to it – because in quantisation you can only go for 50% or 100%...?

    is this the workaround?

...hm isn't this a bit of a shame to have a dedicated quantize button that only allows to go for 50% or 100%? it's a groove box isn't it...

Yes, pretty much. Yes, it is a shame, on the Push2 for example when we press quantize we can turn a knob to set the percentage.
I would understand the lack of quantizing percentage on Jam since its a more step sequencer controller but at least the 4x4 should have this simple feature.

The GUI has been updated, not a huge difference but it looks better.
