I have a 2011 Macbook Pro running 10.9.5. 2.6 crashes my whole computer. Anyone else experiencing this?

You may have to update , 10.11 and 10.12 are listed in the specs I think I'm using 10.10

Yeah. Im always worried about updating just because I use so many different devices and software. I;m gonna check the minimum specs. Can i download and install 10.10 10.11 or 10.12. Not sure how.

If you search the App Store it may allow you to download earlier versions don't know how far it will go back tho ,
I have the same problem , been holding off because of my interface but I can't update the new logic without updating to either 10.11 or 10.12 , I've got 10.12 on a usb I normally download when it comes out but don't install then make a bootable usb so I've got it when I'm ready , gonna investigate tomorrow if I can get 10.11 el captain , if not I'm gonna just do the Sierra update , my Interface has a driver for it but I don't think the mix software is supported.

Well, I just updated to Sierra. I hate updating and usually hold off as long as possible. I can't test anything yet because theres this popup that says "optimizing your mac: Performance and battery life may be affected until complete. This process which seems like it has something to do with the photo library is taking up A LOT of my processing power. I hope it gets done soon.
I have a 2011 Macbook Pro with a 2.2 ghz core i7 and 8 gb. RAM. Its been hella slow lately and Ive ben thinking of upgrading to a new MacBook but they're expensive and I don't really like the new ones with no ports.

Anyway, I'll report back once I can test everything out.

    Thanxxxx
