    Ah, thanks for the reply.

So, in this case a chase midi function would achieve the same thing.

Ok, so this is a small step forward, which leaves me working with my currently workflow. Which is ok, but I am still hoping for a fast introduction of audio tracks

I see the first incarnation of audio tracks as a good starting point, from this point on native can really go on. But I guess they first wanted to find what they call "the maschine way" to implement it so that we can handle it as most as possible from hardware - and that's, at least for me, what maschine is all about, Otherwise I could also use just cubase or whatever with my mouse and keyboard.

I agree, even though I think audio tracks could work with "the Maschine way", even though they would be different. For me, Maschine would gain in value even if there was just one audio track. And if that audio track could not be controlled from the studio, that wouldn't matter to me. Just to have audio in the Maschine environment would help me collaborate with others that work in other daws. Which would be great.

edit: and yes, I know Maschine is not a daw, but I pretty much use it that way. Creating and arranging in the Maschine environment.

Ah ok - it's always interesting how others see it and would like to use it - so you mean an audio track on group level independent from patterns or scenes? That just runs parallel? But with all that beat detection and so on stuff?

Yes indeed. Beat detection and so on wouldn't even be necessary. When I work with others, we can just agree on a bpm, or they can tell me at which bpm they worked. Or I figure it out myself of course.

Yeah for that kind of thing you then have to use a daw and maschine as plugin - or cut the song in pieces - and then we are on start again - bad for that kind of use case, really

If you have Ableton (even the most basic version), you can use it as audio recorder. And still have the advantages of Maschine standalone. (ps: not with link, by sending midi time code.)

Current audio modul seems quite limited but still it is the right direction. I just hope we wont wait for 1-2 years for proper audio channels..

That's exactly what I ended up doing, after this experiment. This track is a result of a new project with this other guy, and I wanted to keep just using Maschine (hence this experiment), but i realized that unfortunately for now at least (even if audio is headed in a very cool direction in Maschine) I need to use Ableton and got a license. But as soon as they start implementing more features and fleshing out the audio module, I want to return to full production in Maschine. I'll just keep my fingers crossed it doesn't take them too long.
