Is the above possible? just wondering initially, is it dependant on the max patch?

    my questions really are...

...how do you sync time clocks/global start/stop positions between 2 machines? especially on 2 different platforms.

can reaktor and max synchronise in such a way?

And for what it's worth can reaktor and reaktor synchronise in such a way also?

i'm not going to be carrying this out soon i don't think, like i say, just gathering an idea of whats involved and if do-able.

you would have thought that, by using any MIDI-generated clock, you could sync two machines together.

I know it's WELL out-dated, but would MMC or something like that not work? Does R5 generate anything similar?

One pice of the puzzle is to use MIDI over Ethernet. I've found some freeware some time ago (can't remember what and where) and I havn't used it....

Also I know that the sequencer/DAW Reaper has som kind of multi computer feature that might help you syncronize the 2 apps over ethernet as Reaktor and MAX(?) can be used as VST (if MAX have Rewire, Reaper do that as well).

Max can load reaktor as a VSTI. You probly wouldn't even need to bother with 2 machines.

sorry i should have explained why i ask...

i was asked recently if i wanted to collaborate on live laptop based projects. However user 'A' uses R5 on their machine & user 'B' uses max/msp on their machine. Which is why i asked about syncing
