I'm sure this problem is being addressed but I thought I'd bring it up....

Two yrs ago I bought an 88 key KK keyboard mk1..... loved it and enjoyed it... then the mk2
came out with the 2 new screens on board and better transport functions... (working in Logic)

To save money, I bought the 61 key mk 2....now I have both keyboards working. The problem arises when
using patches within large orch libraries when I need all 88 keys for key switching to articulations. I have both keyboards
plugged into the computer via usb...... within KK , I have to constantly select which controller I want to use for a
specific patch.... work flow is interrupted constantly..... There is an advantage with the 2 keyboards but also
quite a bit of head scratching..... Has anyone figured out a good work flow for this?

Nope, 2 keyboards just will not work at the same time and requires you to switch scripts and unplug one. Basically there is no good reason to have 2 keyboards and it’s been a complaint for years since the MK2 was released and no signs of it being addressed at all.

    Hey Michael,

As Jester has stated, an instance of Komplete Kontrol plug-in can only be 'connected' to (or 'focussed' on) by one keyboard at a time. When 'focussed', the 8 knobs / buttons, screens and light guide will be connected to the selected plug-in, whilst any other device connected will be in MIDI mode. However, it is possible to switch focus between your MK1 and MK2 devices from the hardware, without having to use the controller menu each time:

    - To bring the MK2 into focus, press PLUG-IN. To drop it out of focus, press MIDI.
    - To bring the MK1 into focus, press SHIFT + INSTANCE. Do the same to drop it out of focus.

    I hope this helps.

    Best,
    Adil

Thanks to all on this...... I have found a way to jump back and forth to the two controllers by using the little keyboard icon in the menu bar to
the left of the tempo in the Komplete Kontrol plugin..... by clicking the keys icon I can go to the 88 key but I can't seem to go back to the 61 key.
Trying to find a way without using the mouse.

Also, just out of curiosity.... is this the only form of support we have with the company? I see no way to email them directly anymore.
They mention a way to have a live chat but no visible way of accessing..... Great company, horrible support.... jus sayin"

trying to continue this conversation..... in stand alone, I am able to switch to the 88 key mk 1 by using shift and instance and then back to the 61 key mk 2 using the plug-in button.... no mouse being used..... just what I want...... When I need an 88 for key switches boom... when I need a better graphic look at the plugin, boom, I got it...... As soon as I switch to Logic, the trouble starts...... plug in button doesn't always work... very random... and the same with switching to the 88 key. Inconsistent and random....... If anyone out there can figure this out I would be so grateful.......

Same issues I had, only in Live. Standalone it seems everything should work but when you use within a DAW everything gets screwed. Basically as I said above, it's just not possible to use 2 keyboards together in a DAW as it stands.

Well, it’s possible but extremely frustrating. Basically depending on what kind of project it’s a crap shoot..... a full string patch using Spitfire libraries the key switches can run off the keyboard of a 61 which makes the 88 a valuable tool.... I should ve spent the extra 300 bucks to have the updated 88 key..... I guess if this philosophy continues at NI I’ll have 10 88 key controllers in 20 yrs.

I have a legitimate reason for having two Komplete Kontrol keyboards plugged in at once: I have an S88 for when I'm doing my initial compositions/arrangements, and then I also keep an M32 by my computer for doing quick experimentation. The physical arrangement of my studio makes it useful to be able to switch between these two keyboards quickly.

Unfortunately, while the M32 is plugged in, the patch browser doesn't work at all from the S88, so I have to unplug the M32 while I'm using the S88, and probably should turn the S88 off while I'm using the M32, which is annoying to have to do.

It would be nice if the Komplete Kontrol plugin were able to recognize multiple connected keyboards at once rather than just having a single one take "focus," especially as the Komplete Kontrol line keeps on growing with more specialty controllers that a single musician might want to switch between quickly.

That's clever but doesn't really help the situation, it just adds more moving parts to have to remember to deal with. Unplugging my M32's USB cable is easier. :)

well, let's keep up the conversation...... Obviously NI sold us these keyboards and I hope they don't expect us to buy the updated version every few years..... They really should provide us with a way to use both controllers simultaneously or at the very least switch back and forth with a simple command without using the mouse..... I am referring to this function within a DAW as a plugin and not the stand alone version.

If you are in the Beta I created a suggestion ticket SUG-0136

Not that I would get your hopes up at all since other BASIC requests (like a resizable window ) have been requested for 5 years without a glimmer of hope.

Well this thread has me completely peeved as I own the 61 and 88 mk2 and expected the ability to use both. I can't believe NI can't create products that work together, what an absolute shambles.

Yes we can choose one controller to be 'in focus' at a time in standalone (brilliant, that should please 0.04% of users), but in logic that wont work at all. Even if I go through the procedure of using the mouse to select the 61 from the dropdown list in edit for each new instance of KK (which chooses the 88 by default), as soon as I close kk, switch tracks and then come back to it, THE 61 IS NO LONGER THE CHOSEN CONTROLLER!

Seriously, I thought it was bad enough maschine mk3 wont work with KK, but you guys have outdone yourselves, bravo.

Well, I did what I had to do and bought a s88 mk2 which I should’ve done in the first place..... my life is perfect!
Was able to sell my mk1 88 on eBay...... for some reason the s61 mk2 is not selling.... not even 6 mos old if anyone is interested..... I’d let it go for 500.00 plus shipping.

Any news here? Just detected the same confusing situation while having a M32 and an S88 Mk2 connected simultaneously and controlled as a plug-in in Ableton.

Nope, no news nor will there be any time soon. Just not an important feature for them to consider I guess.

    Thanks for the quick reply.
Pardon my french, but this really sucks. I would like to use two of Native's most up-to-date keyboards together and that does not work in a very common production surrounding like Ableton? I love Native for some really finished and awesome products, but this is quite horrible.
native if one of you ever reads this, please fix it.

Thanks for the tip. It does work, yet only in the stand-alone version of komplete kontrol:(.
Could you guys make up your minds on fixing that in the aforementioned DAWs in plug-in mode?
Certainly, quite a lot users would really appreciate that.
