Traktor Have Own Graphic Engine In the application.
It's not like similar app , not easy to re-build.
And the UI is the most of resource usage in the app(any program).

Why would you want people to see your collection?
If you have certain remixes that only you have permission to play, i wouldn't want the general public knowing what tunes i play.

I don't see a real world use for it. You may as well reproduce the desktop and show all of it.

Gosh, if there's a demand, it's because there's a real world use for it.
Don't be so narrow, there's not only live uses of traktor.

    True that!

if you haven't noticed already, the focus of the market has shifted a lot in the direction of expanding the user base to home/bedroom users. The professional users market is a relatively tight market, so it's no wonder why this explosion of hobby grade controllers pops out.

If you think about it, the S2/4 is much more appealing to the hobby users than to the pros. And NI are selling loads of these. It's logical for features to be implemented for satisfying this segment. And of course this particular feature will be very useful for studio use.

Still, I'd love to see an iPad app capable of both library operations and controlling. And if that is also made as a plugin app, which can overtime get modules for Traktor/Maschine/Komplete instruments UI & Control, this would be the best.

Well, a detachable window would actually make it easier to conceal what songs you were playing from the audience. But just like in the old days when we would put a white label over things we wanted to keep secret it is easy enough to give alternative names to 'secret' files... So would be a very useful top end option.

Also would be really nice when working in the studio... and for practicing and working out sets, organising libraries, etc. Something even professional deejays do.

In my opinion this as a feature would be more useful to the professional end user than the bedroom dj. Nice use of the opportunity to make the Native instruments focusing on bedroom deejays jab though. Getting pretty creative there. And really nice segue into some jabs on the hardware quality...

    Most impressive...

This is actually a very very old request. This goes back years.
Personally, i see that there is some demand for it but i consider it limited.
I never see a DJ with more than one screen unless they are running Ableton on it or another application aside from Traktor.

NI have heard this request many times before and not acted on it so I wouldnt hold your breath.

Because without multiscreen support there is no reason to use 2 monitors for just traktor. I doubt I would ever use 2 monitors live (unless I was running ableton, etc.) but I would really benifit from having it when working in the studio.

Indeed, this is a an old request... and it is true that most DJ's only carry one screen with them (the one in their laptop).

BUT...with all screens getting sleeker by the hour and all the new high powered interfaces coming along, (the Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 in particular) I don't think carrying another monitor would have to be that troublesome.

...it would allow you to work MUCH faster at home, and MUCH more effecient at the club.

+1 .Also you could make a setting option to disable the 2nd monitor output ,so it don't eat up resources when you don't need it.

It looks like he is dual monitoring and placing the screens below each other resulting in a workspace like 1900x2400. If u run traktor in maximaized window modus it will use the bottom screen where conveniantly the browser is placed.

This wil give some issues :

If u full screen the app ith will be just 1 screen

The first browser section will be scaled on the main screen

If u want a 2nd screen for anything else it will work akward

It has a big advantage regarding focus. If u select a track on the 2nd screen the app won't loose foxus and will be still dipslayed on the main screen.

    GREAT! Idea.
Cheap and well suitable for Laptops.
If your Grafic card supports it, you may adjust the main screen resolution to something like this (1900 x 860), so the main screen rather fits the 4 decks.
And the Browser is displayed only on the second screen.
This means you have not to switch with your eyes between main and 2nd screen during browsing.

that's a great idea... Seems so obvious in hindsight. Still would like to see detachable windows though...

NI seems to be focusing more on Hardware these days and any Software development is geared towards whatever hardware they are currently pushing.

There are features that should be simple no brainers but instead you get a butt load of 1 shot sample loops... Yaaaaay!

Instead of a 2 monitor option, I would like to be able to split the playlist from the rest of the screen, similar to Winamp playlist separate from the player. Then again, this could lead to people wanting this "frame" view to modify the entire application...(such as decks in line similar to Serato Scratch Live). NOT that I'm asking for that.
