    Hi,

So I'm trying use bandstand as a vst plug-in in cubase on a mac OSX tiger system.

The s/w installs ok and I start up cubase and try to add a vst instrument and bandstand is in the list... GREAT. I click on it and it brings up the product registration screen wherein I'm prompted to activate, buy or run demo. I have already bought the product and have the activation key so I click activate...

Instead of activating it brings me to a product upgrade screen (in the ni support utility or whatever it is called). Says bandstand 1.0.3 is available. So I download it and install it. Then I proceed to the activation screen where I enter my activation code and the product is registered. All things ok.

Here's where my two problems start.

    1) When I restart Cubase (restarted the computer as well before hand) and try to add bandstand as a VST instrument it says I need to activate the product (...again). When I follow the prompts to do so it says the product is activated. WTF?

    2) I can somehow get past this prompt by saying activate and then just returning to cubase. In this case the VST performance meter shows that the CPU is totally bogged down by the bandstand plug-in. Basically if I'm using more than 4 midi channels in the plug-in things go all to hell. If I run bandstand outside of cubase this doesn't happen. I can use many MIDI channels with no problem in CPU load or output performance.

I tend to think these are related but I'm no expert so... any ideas?

    Thanks.
