    Hello,

I think there is a bug in the mac version of Traktor 3.2

When i try to play 24 bit .wav files in Traktor on the mac it gives a white noise kind of sound and waveform.

On the PC, however ,it plays both .wav and .aiff files in 24bit perfectly.

Any suggestions? (except buying a new intel mac ;))

    Thank you for your time,

    Steve Pittoors

Works fine here. Can you chop down a small Wav file that you can verify has a problem and upload it to YouSendit.com, send mail to jplewis01 at comcast.net when you have done it so I can test here?

I made a fresh install 3.2.0.085 on a different Mac OSX 10.3.9 computer that never had Traktor.

And i see it has the same problem. Will not play 24 bit .wav files correctly.

No one ever tried the same thing?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Have you sent the file (or the yousendit link, if the file is still there) to support? What did they say?

    Answer from support...
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    Hello Steve Pittoors,

This is not a known issuze, but I could reproduce it. I have informed the development department to fix this with one of the next updates. We appreciate your understanding.

    Best regards,
    Andreas Buff

    Andreas,

This means the possible update can't be used for the Stanton Final Scratch? Since you don't support it any longer?

This is what i was afraid of...i should have adressed the problem a long time ago...merde

    Thanks,

    Steve

Can anyone verify if the new "Traktor scratch" with the AUDIO8 interface will play 24bit .wav's in OSX?

is this problem occurring under OS X 10.3.9?

Because I know Apple made a few changes to the way Core Audio works with Tiger 10.4 and later.

Might be worth trying your 24 bit wav on a Mac with Tiger installed to see if the problem is still there...

Can't verify at the moment, but pretty sure I've seen this problem in Tiger too.

    Yup,

    Same problem in Tiger...

As expected it does work on an Intel mac running windows...

Aren't they obliged to provide support when they say in manual it can read 24bit .wavs?

Still hoping for a non-cost solution,

    Steve

Passing on something I happened to discover...

Just switched to a little app called Boom Recorder (lite version) to record my wax. It's mainly aimed at film recorders, and records Broadcast Wave format. Happened to try playing a file in Traktor, and it reads it fine.

Perhaps for me, it was something to do with Peak's 24bit WAV files specifically that was the problem, then.

    Peece,
