    Hello,

How are you ? Fine I hope. :)

I have discovered that 264 Absynth KoreSound Presets are missing from Absynth 4 in the Absynth 3 Factory folder.

There are 831 KoreSound Presets within "Absynth 3 Factory" folder located at:

    /Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds/Absynth 4/Absynth 3 Factory

There are 1,095 KoreSound Presets within "Absynth 3" folder located at:

    /Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds/Absynth 3

Which also explains why some people are missing Absynth 3 presets such as "Magic Wheel" and "Weird Scientist" along with many others in Absynth 4 when searching within its Browser. :S

    Absynth 3.0.2 and Absynth 4.0.4

    OS X 10.4.11

    One Love.

    God Bless.

I know a lot went missing, but I didn't know that many had...

I'll see what can be done about it.

    O.K. Thanks ew. :)

How are things going in St. Paul ?

    This is rather strange.

    I even tried re-installing Absynth 4.0.4. :S

    Hopefully this is rectified soon.

I heard from both Brian and the project manager about this one. The problem came about because the update and demo installers are the same. There'll be a fix soon...

In Absynths GUI, Open "File", then "Options" and go to the browser tab. There's a button that says "Rebuild DB". I pressed it and after a few minutes all my previously missing presets showed back up in the browser. This probably won't help if your actually missing samples from the folder, but I solved my issue of missing .glo files.

I was keen to geta fix on this. As a new owner I was curious as to the non-appearance of Quiet Afternoon Piano, given it is mentioned and illustrated int he Quick Setup part of the manuel.
I see now it is one of those ksds in the Absynth 3 folder that didnlt make it onto the "Absynth 3 Factory" folder.
Same is true of "Magic Wheel" and "Weird Scientist".

Looking forward to this fix so i can hear all these extra sounds.

Does this explain the duplicates I am seeing? Is the from installing the demo, the purchasing Absynth4? I am not exactly sure what is going on...

The reason why you're seeing duplicates more than likely (if you had an earlier version than 4.0.4 installed) is because 4.0.4 moved its Absynth 3 content to a new location (a subfolder of the Absynth 4 sound folder) and left the old folder behind instead of deleting it.

So I can delete the folder in:

    /MacHD/Application Support/Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds/Absynth 3?

    or delete:

    /MacHD/Application Support/Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds/Absynth 4/Absynth 3 Factory?

Did the demo content get over written when I purchased Absynth4?

    Yep, it did.

I'd delete the first one after I copied over the patches that the 4.0.4 update's missing to the Absynth 3 Factory folder. The easiest way to do that is just to copy over the whole shebang and then pull the duplicates out of that- the originals won't be overwritten in most cases (the factory location's write protected).

    Sounds/Absynth 3 has : 1095 files
    Sounds/Absynth 4/Absynth 3 Factory has : 831 files

So, there are 264 missing files.

The attached txt file is the names of the missing files.

After copying the missing files, Sounds/Absynth 4/Absynth 3 Factory will have 1095 files.

I rebuilt the absynth database, now everything is fine.

    thanks ew.

    Quick question here:
I understand the principles stated above for use in Absynth 4.
    But....
What if I still want to keep Absynth 3 running as well? Should I then keep the [Application Support/Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds/Absynth 3] folder?

    Regards - Colin

    missing 3?

I copied the files from Absynth 3 to "Absynth 3 Factory" file.

Only thing is - I notice my Absynth 3 folder has 1092 files - not 1095 - and so likewise has my "Absynth Factory 3"

Anyone know why that might be or am I being dumb?
Is there full list I can compare my files to?

Oops... I never saw this. Sorry...

I'd keep the old folder in that situation.

    Hi !

Does that mean Absynth 4.0.5.3 now contains all of the missing 264 sounds/patches of Ansynth3 factory now ?
