Did you submit a bug report for the new beta?

Did you actually try it out yourself? According to the developers, this *has* been improved in 3.1.

I tried it; it still seems just as slow.

    Yes, I did.
I actually loaded up an older project - didnt work well.
Now I started a new one and it seems to be improved, works fine and is quite usable with normal WAV files.

But it still has huge delays on .cl3 files from the Factory Library. I can't remember whether this issue existed back before the bug was introduced or not....

Also, and this is definitley another bug, if I had previewed some .cl3 sample (e.g. "SD Double Br B (Full Jazz).cl3") they seem to overwrite the preview volume for WAV files until you preview a .cl3 file which has louder volume again.
UPDATE: Preview doesnt just keep the .cl3 volume but also pan-settings.

Probably gonna file that one to the bugtracking system later these days.

Alright, it's now back to slow previewing again even with WAV files. Seems like it was working once or on random occasions.

    Too bad..

Jesus christ, i am absolutely ****ing amazed, when i searched google for this problem and started reading page 1 of this thread i thought to myself: thank god, this is a common problem, there will obviously be a fix on the bottom of the page, or maybe on page 2. After reading through 5 pages of posts from angry and despairing customers, ive come to the conclusion that this have NOT been fixed yet? After 6 months? I cannot ****ing believe this

I cannot even apply the 3.0.4 update because the ****ing bullshit Komplete 6 ****** deal includes a 3.0.5 version of battery 3. And every time i apply the 3.0.4 update, next time i open battery its back to 3.0.5. Jesus christ....

Please... learn to properly communicate in a public forum. Words mean things and many of yours are offensive.

So, I too am having issues, but not just with Battery 3, with all the Komplete Synths. Everything is really slow to populate. I thought this was my G5, at the time. But then I bought this BEASTLY MacPro, and loading presets was slow, both in Battery 3 and everything else. It's a mood-killer. In fact, I've almost completely written off the NI synths because of this. (Now using Rob Papen and LinPlug's stuff, because it sounds wicked and is far more responsive...I feel like I wasted a bunch of money on my NI purchase).

I emailed tech support about a year ago and they said this was normal to be slow populating lists. It doesn't make sense to me.

The other problem I have, which is infuriating is Battery's inability to locate files on my hard drives. It is unable to recognize a new folder when I am re-linking samples (if I reorganized things). I have to relink EACH INDIVIDUAL SAMPLE. This seems insane to me. At this point I feel like NI is a second-rate software developer.

He probably just needs to vent. I'm pretty infuriated myself. It feels like when you dump a ton of cash into some software, you would have some recourse via tech support. I've had nothing but problems with NI and will not purchase another of their products until they fix these. I've never supported pirating software, because I like having the security of dealing with the company's tech support. NI is a case that makes me WANT to pirate software, because if they can't/won't give me support, they don't deserve my money.

Sir, I wasn't even talking about your star studded profanity. Rather, the profanity that wasn't star studded. ;)

Get off your moral high horse. And, while you're at it, go **** yourself. :)

So far, Battery 3.1 beta does not suffer from the delay issue on Win 7 64-bit running 32-bit Cubase 5.5. It's usable, at least. Now, if only NI could figure out how to let the samples preview in rapid succession (like, while quickly clicking thru a library looking for a sound) without any delay and without digital clicks on the leading edges of sounds (this would be esp. great for previewing kicks--a couple of milliseconds of digital click can completely change it's character, and give one an inaccurate perception of what it would sound like in a mix).
    ---
And, I agree with those who have been saying NI is encouraging piracy. It's true: if developers are this lackadaisical about bug fixes and support (my experience with NI tech support in LA was DESPICABLY AWFUL), they DESERVE to be snubbed by the software buying community. They deserve to have their software cheapened till they can't give it away if they are going to be like this. They'd better start reading their damn forums and act quickly.

This aggression will not stand, man.
    ---
Oh, and one more thing: in Battery 3.1 beta, the in kit preview still seems to interrupt the samples already playing while scrolling through sounds. Irritating.
