Now...if they'll just finish the darned thing.

Expect lots of OS X software and plugs at NAMM. Will NI do the same?

Yes, indeed. I sent the following e-mail to NI yesterday. I await the reply:

    "Hi there,

I bought Reaktor 3 last October after reading on your website that the new 3.3 upgrade will be free for current registered users. I notice that this statement has now been removed from the NI website. Please clarify - will the Reaktor 3.3 update be free to registered Reaktor 3 users?"

    enough panic

I personally can`t imagine they will change their announcement.
I just wondered that they removed it from the website.
Didn`t mean to wake those sleeping dogs.

    This is the original text:

    Preview: REAKTOR 3.3

REAKTOR 3.3 builds on the performance and features first introduced with REAKTOR 3 and makes it even smoother and quicker to build and modify instruments, to use REAKTOR as a VST plug-in, and to quickly preview, add, and replace instruments. Reworked sample-management, improved snapshot handling, streamlined user interface, and an integrated browser let you work even faster than ever. Combined with many improvements and additions to the basic modules such as a grain cloud delay, FIR-filter, clock-shuffler, FM7 oscillator, and more, REAKTOR 3.3 provides exceptional possibilities for sound exploration.

REAKTOR 3.3 was previewed on this years Musikmesse Frankfurt in March 2002. The release date is scheduled for the second half of 2002.

    Prices, update offer
The REAKTOR 3.3 retail price will be EURO 599 / $ 599 USD.
Registered REAKTOR 3.x users will be able to update to version 3.3 for free.

a few weeks ago i heard about reaktor 4 coming up.
it seems that ni skipped 3.3 and that they go
directly to version 4. as far as i know the version 4
will be a free upgrade for all 3.x users.

i think the namm show will bring up all the news we need.

    best wishes

Someone from NI posted a little while ago (about a month?) saying that the next version would be free to current registered Reaktor 3.x users. He didn't know what it'd be called, 3.3 or 4.

strange there is << NO >> reaction in this thread from NI. Why do I get the feeling that they're hiding something? I guess everything will be allright in the end.
maybe there will not be a 3.3 version, but only a brand new 4 version, for we'll have to pay... the upgrade price.

this way they'll get around the promise of the free 3.3 upgrade... that's business.. LOL

this is not so strange, ni's replys in this forum are very rare.
but as we all know, it is namm-show time and probably they are
all there showing their upcoming stuff.

when the namm-show is over, i think we will get the
information we need regarding the next update.

Not to provoke another wave of RUISS (Reaktor Update Induced Stress Syndrome -- high priced treatment coming soon from the pharmaceutical industry), but...

No, I won't even say it -- it will stress you out.

    Never mind.

I am afrait I must contradict the previous poster with his reliance on the medication treatments for RUISS. I haff fount that das Electoshocktherapie is the sole means of re-compositing the fractured Psyche of the severe RUISS trauma victim.

Let me say that I find both of you to be valid people, with valid and meaningful opinions that I respect, and more importantly, care about. But perhaps, just as a kind of role playing game, we could say, "What if both drug therapy and electroshock therapy aren't the best way to go for RUISS?".

Let's try to open up our options some, and think about how positive self-affirming actions in our own lives, and expensive chat sessions with me, might help us understand that the problem really isn't RUISS, it's believing that RUISS is a problem we can't handle. But we can -- I know *you* can!
