I see virtual dj and serato have one distinct advantage over ni traktor. They are willing to work with popular third party vendors. I recently trolled the numark forums because I really want moving platters in my setup that actually work. Here is the conversation. I am sure I am not alone. Can you guys Native instrument reach out to numark and get this feature implemented so I can use a ns7? Is that really too much to ask? I am thinking of switching to sarato so I dont need to drag turn tables or buy cartridges around. Yes I realize I am kinda whiny about this but I have been waiting for years for you guys to make support pioneer rane and numark hardware or come up with something with a motorized platter design.

Numark Hi Mark Redshaw! Thanks for the suggestions. I am very interested on the capabilities that you speak of, so what capabilities are you referring to specifically?

Mark Redshaw Numark The full dvs motorized platter feel just like you get from it from sorato you just cant do with this device on tractor The only way short of dvs vinyl you can do with traktor and a motorized platter was done by the defunct stanton system scs.1 and the other hack is to use the denon cdjs that have the motorized platters. Currently there is no midi or hid usb plug in type solution for tractor users that will give you motorized platters and vinyl feel short of just using turn tables. When you omited this functionality in the original ns7 for tractor users I simply stopped buying numark products which I had started on. I was looking forward to the ns7 and you disappointed all the tractor users. real vinyl feel with a numark ns7 and tractor just isnt there so why should I waste my money on an overpriced plain boring midi controller if I cant have its flag ship feature?

D.j. Gifted I agree with Mark. I started on the Mixdeck and Traktor and considered the first NS7 when it was released only because of the motorized platter. I ended up getting full turntables because I stare at the records and the tracking wasn't there yet for the NS7. Once the II came out I was really excited but not so much because it's lacking compatibility with Traktor. I see the III now and wonder what makes it different from the II and I'd be interested because I need a more portable solution for smaller events but need Traktor compatibility.

Numark To be clear, the decision that Native made not to support the NS7 or other motorized platters was entirely Native Instruments. You might notice they are doing their own controllers and any other controllers need mappings made by third parties. You can map the ns7 to traktor however you may notice it does not offer a map option for motorized platters. You will likely know the ns7 is mapped to almost all other softwares. This was not a Numark decision.
