4 Deck Control - 2 Timecode Vinyl/2 Controller

I have been looking at controlling all 4 decks, 2 with timecode vinyl and 2 with the remaining controls on my Allen & Heath 1d's.

The problem I am having is as follows. When playing tunes on deck a&b (timecode vinyl) everything works fine, including the sync with deck c&d (controller). But, if I take the needle off both decks the 'master' switches to deck c and the pitch drops quite considerably.

I have experimented with various combinations of 'master' auto/manual etc but can't seem to find a solution.

Does anyone have any ideas. Am I missing something or is this way of working just not possible?

What you probably want to do set the master to one of the "internal" mode decks (C or D). Once you are done with one of your vinyl mode decks, click the "play" button to switch it to internal mode, then lift the needle.

 

Thanks for the reply. I thought it may involve a bit of a work around, just wondered if there was an option/setting I had missed!
