    Rhodes and Wurlitzers everywhere. Where is the iconic 80s EP sound? Software emulators do a pretty good job but not if you want the bark or bite of the real thing. And to get the expressiveness of DX patches (colour changes all over the velocity range) you need loads of velocity layers, not the lightweight versions. They're a gimmick :)

    I converted about two thousand DX1, DX7 and DX7II EP tones into koresounds using FM8 and rated and categorized them in Kore 2. Then I uploaded the 8 best per 4 classes (Bright, Classic, FM & Warm) to my TX802, analyzed them and customized them until I was happy. I deep sampled the best of each class - 12 unlooped samples times 88 keys plus release samples - and programmed them in Kontakt to behave exactly like the real thing. I even wrote a script to add the slight randomization in tuning and volume that I tweaked until I couldn't tell the TX802 and Kontakt apart and wrote a script to get the typical chamber wide detune, which works great in the Pro version. No phase cancellation! They all have 1144 samples and are about 2GB. On Sampleism you can buy 140 sample (4 velocity layers, 4 keys per octave sampled) versions with about 200mb, they cost £12 each. I sell the Pro versions myself (€25 excl VAT/$30), please use the contact info in the manual and "about" tab if you're interested. If you want all four it's €40 excl VAT/$50 for all 140 versions and €80 excl VAT/$100 for all Pro versions. I'll also sell upgrades. The Pro versions have 1144 "pure" samples next to the 1144 regular samples. More info on that in the manual.

    The Bright is close to the Fulltines patch, the Classic is close to the DX1 Rhodes sound, the FM is close to the FM Rhodes sound and the Warm is very unique, a little like Alan Parsons. A lithophone like attack and a very full and dark decay, especially if you play soft.

    I just uploaded the last one today, I'll start working on demo's - TX802 versus 80s EP, 80s EP versus FM8, 140 versus Pro, exploring sound possibilities, etc. But I'm already excited about finally being able to start on my next project as well. Cutting, polishing and programming 1000+ Yamaha CP70B samples.

    Fun for Halloween: download the free preview, click the detune, rotator, fade and horror buttons and start playing :) "Horror" triggers a script that randomly tunes each key stroke up or down up to a quartertone. Combined with Detune you'll get three microtonal pitches that are always around the key you press but never quite there, and different every time.

    Have fun!

    Uploaded two demo tracks for the Classic and FM to Soundcloud. You will hear the same midi file rendered by:
    * the original TX802 module
    * Kontakt using the pure samples
    * Kontakt using the coloured samples
    * Kontakt in the lite version
    * FM8 with the TX802 preset.

    Working hard on two next products and updates for the 80s EPs.

    In the meantime I made a video demo for the 80s Classic Pro, demonstrating a subtly vibrated Detune with highpass filter.

    Hi do you still have TX802 samples available? I’m specifically looking for the patch ‘Stereo Electric Piano’ (performance patch 04)

    Many thanks
