What I often miss is the ability to edit a track directly in a DJ program, I believe that the logic of daw should be in dj programs and that it should be one organism, but there are also simpler solutions.

What does a DJ usually do with a track after purchase?
    - Cuts samples and loops from a track if it's a hip-hop DJ doing notes, beat or voice slicing
    - Makes own versions of tracks in DAW
    - Customize the grid
    - Puts hot cues, colors and signed pads
    - Makes extra beats and percussion for mixing in different parts of the track

Now in DJ programs, we can only do a few things from this list, I would like the DJ to be able to do all kinds of editing directly in Traktor, without having to go to third party programs.

    Improving paradigm, remix decks concept
I would like to explain why the Ableton concept is implemented more conveniently than in Traktor. In Ableton, we can load the project, along with tracks, samples and loops, but in Traktor, we have to load tracks, samples and loops separately from each other, they are also located in different decks, which makes it difficult to use, the functionality of the step sequencer is limited and we cannot save the beats we made.

In my opinion, the separation of remix decks and individual tracks is conceptually wrong. Because if we look at how it works in Ableton, then the clips that we run in Ableton can be both tracks, as loops, and single samples, in other words, on this grid of clips in the session view, we have all types of audio tracks ( track, loop, single sample)

But in the case of Traktor we have a remix decks and tracks separately, which makes it difficult to use this method, because it looks less harmonious, less natural.

I propose to improve the section of hot cues, and combine the functionality of the remix decks with a regular deck, that is, we can work with hot cues, loops, but we also have a new type of cue - sample cue.

Imagine that you can add, in the Hot Cue section, the samples or loops that you saved for this track. These can be external samples or samples made in the Traktor step sequencer.

And this is what the workflow would look like in the improved deck
    1. DJ marks hot cues along with color and pad signed as usual
    2. Exposes the grid
    3. In the breakdown the DJ wants to add percussion, for example, he opens the step sequencer and makes a beat that suits the breakdown in this track. And then it saves that beat straight to the hot cue of that track as a sample, the volume and filters it can adjust as usual with the 4 remix decks knobs.

    4. Then he wants to edit the track and cut out some parts, he opens the Traktor Editor, and he edits the track, and he does it all in Traktor.
Despite the fact that many DJs edit their tracks, for some reason DJ programs do not have this function.
In Traktor Editor we should be able to cut out parts of the track. Control volume, equalizer, effects. Also, the Editor must have several chanells so that you can layer several layers or samples, as we do in a regular daw.

    5. And the last thing, if you are a hip-hop DJ, you probably want to cut out some notes and samples of vocals, beats, so that you can play them live, for this you cut out a sample and put it on a hot cues, the advantage of this is that this type of hot cue, plays the sample like a remix deck

Yes, we need a new type of hot cue - the Sample Cue, the sample cue is a hot cue that stores in itself audio sample. I wrote about this here:
    https://www.native-instruments.com/forum/threads/suggestions-for-hot-cues.407271/

We should be able to simply drag the sample into the hot cue with the mouse.

As a result, combining the functions of a regular deck with a remix deck will give a more deeper experience for DJ. I also believe that the DJ program should be completely independent and cover all the needs of DJs to work with the material, without resorting to third-party programs. Such as Ableton or others

You are describing Serato Flip. Check some videos to get the idea. Also notice the videos are maybe old so interface (colours and shape) could have been improved.

Hi Mutis I know about the Flip function, I've used Serato before, I've always found this function a little useless, since a DJ can play everything live, why would he record it? Considering that the flip only records the movement between hot cues

In my post, I propose to combine remix deck and egular deck, and make a new type of hot cue so that the DJ can save not only cues, but also audio samples and loops to hot cues

Ok, reading twice you are describing Maschine and Serato Studio.

What you feel unnatural in your comment, it's usually the opposite. Djs just want to play things in live (so for that reason Flip is limited too and Serato released a dedicated app just for remixing and edits... well also because Mixtape/The Bridge teach them that wasn't a good idea run a DAW while djing alongside Dj app...)
Maschine seems the tool for NI.

but I agree it will be clever to push that tool and export features... including stems creation, Remix decks creation... but my gut says NI has finally understood the market shift and, alongside Traktor evolution into TDJ2, maybe we will see some changes into Maschine or iMaschine...

These are nice ideas so keep sharing and discussing these (let's hope Kai @ NI or someone look at them...) but also with the rumour about A&H buying traktor division maybe those integrations will never happen... IDK.
Anyways, my advice: look further in Serato proposal or get Scratch Track plugin and integrate it inside Ableton.
NI doesn't seems the future of sounds anymore IMO so I don't expect too many improvements on old code (TP3) and TDJ2 has still lots of feature to "steal" from its big brother to even talk about remix decks or automation...
