I am using the 4Trak and I was wondering if anyone knows how to get Traktor 2.6.8 to record longer than 102.53 minutes? Everytime my recordings stops precisely at that time. I have gigs coming up that I wish to record longer than that. At least record long enough to at least fit a fill a session on an CD. I would hope I can record the whole session...3 to 5 hours long like my trusty ol Ion Cross Discover DJ/MixVibes software. I've past 3 hours of recordings with that software.

In Traktor's preferences go to "Mix Recorder" > "Split File at Size" and set it to 2048MB. I think that should give you enough time.

    Hey Tricky Mouse,

Thanks for the advice & feedback on this. I've set it to 2048MB, recorded a session and it still quit on me at 102.53 minutes. This time I watched the numbers and once it hit 100.00, it started over meaning when I recorded for the length of a 80 minute CD (120 minutes), My music was lost after 102.53. That's still 17.47 minutes unaccounted for. I'm lost to understanding "WHY" this can't record past that hour.

Traktor records in WAV format, be sure you have enough free space on your hard drive.

    Hey Abebe,

Yes I have plenty of space. Actually all of my music is on TWO 2T external hard drives so space is not the issue. I also use a MP3 converter for my Traktor wave formats. It's just that I can not get it past an hour to record.

use the "split on file size" option. traktor records in wav, they can only have a certain length.

and please dont double post. deleted the other thread!

Thus DJ Freshfluke is right, use the split on file size option.

Abebe if you guys look at my earlier post, you will see that I've already went down the "SPLIT FILE SIZE" route. File sizes are:
64MB, 650MB, 700MB, 2048MB. Went with 2048MB and it gives an hour. Thanks

Didn't realize I posted twice. New to online postings & forums. Also I remember reading about posting your questions in areas you see fit to post. Not all readers share/read all forums, just specifics.

So, interestingly enough, I was recording my set ran which went over 1hr two nights ago, and it predictably split into two files.. but the second split file dropped a bar and a half of audio at the beginning. Not the end of the world, but somewhat curious.

    Anyone else encountered this?

I didn't checked that but i think possible if the pc/laptop is very slow writing.

    Hey Abebe,

thanks for the screen shot man it helped. I am still reading the manual more in depth to understand the maximum recording times better. You have been of great help. My next project is to find and external route of recording longer files. Maybe in MP3..only if it's possible.

I am just learning to monitor my time in Traktor. Once it hits 100.00 minutes, I stop my recording only to immediately press record again for another 20.00 minutes. This way I will fill my CD space. All of this is done as you recommended at the beginning of this thread...2048MB file size. Thanks as well!
