    hello

    the JACK AUDIO project is now working in a 64 bits ports for windows systems.

    this is not an official release. its still under development and experimental.

    this is an call for those who want to route real time low latency audio and midi between hardware or software, even over network connection

    with this new version you can connect 32 bits jack client to a 64 bits jack server (this means good news for KORE users)

    this could also be a rewire alternative for those who want to use Reason with Maschine

    Or rout audio to any DAW with Maschine standalone and keep transport control.

    that would come in handy. but does that mean we'd have to slave the daw to maschine. I was considering setting up a dual boot on my system using the second one as a testing bench for all the Kore Komplete Stuff. This may be the nudge i needed to go ahead

    reading alittle about Jack slaving may not be necessary, looking to find out how many streams can be sent out simultaneously from one app to the next. Default is 4 in 4 out

    jack offers unlimited audio and midi routes. your hw horsepower is the real limit.

    transport control, i have not tested it yet, but im not sure if maschine let you choose to be master or slave in standalone. i think that this scenario is not implemented by ni dev team.

    The default is 4 In and 4 Out, but this can be changed
    in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Jack v1.9.8\64bits\JackRouter.ini file.

    peoples, remember that this 64 bits version is still under development! dont expect a nice working gui.

    yesterday i managed to get a list of avaliable audio devices running:

    jackd -d portaudio -l

    i have to read the jack manual to configure it nice, it does not seem difficult.
    the next thing is getting the audio and midi routing GUI. i will be back with news!

    i have done a very first baby step in jack64: i could route massive to absynth, both in standalone. i will do more tests with mixing 32 bits and 64 bits standalone programs, and midi routing. all with the new 64 bits jack daemon.

    just tested Jack audio 1.9.8 tonight and I have to say that it rocks ! I've succesfully routed maschine (64bit app) output to ableton live (32bit app) input and it worked very well.

    are you using an asio driver?

    i start jack port audio like this:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Jack\jackd.exe" -R -S -X winmme -d portaudio -d "ASIO::ASIO Fireface USB"

    ASIO Fireface USB being my RME audio interface driver name;

    i had to register in order to use 64 bits server using :regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Jack\64bits\JackRouter.dll"

    then in jack control i can route maschine into live and live to my speakers

    My problem is the jack asio driver in maschine/live run @44,1 512 samples (i usually run @96khz,192 sample i get 3ms latency) and the audio is quite distorted + latency is too big

    will try midi sync later but maschine/live doesn't see the jack midi driver ( i used -X winmme in the command line), did you make it work?

    EDIT: launching with "C:\Program Files (x86)\Jack\jackd.exe" -R -S -X winmme -d portaudio -d "ASIO::ASIO Fireface USB" -r 96000 -p 192

    Now it runs @96khz with 4ms latency instead of 3; it's a lot better but sound is still a bit clicky, thing are not as smooth as running maschine as vsti yet.

    Any suggestion/optimisation or will i have to wait another release to use it reliably?

    I can't change the latency from 1024, any ideas? The latency in setup is 64 samples, 1024 in apps but 192 in my soundcards control panel. :confused:

    I've looked for walk throughs etc but everything seems to geared towards linux. Very little info on windows...
    ---
    Ok i've got it working but there is a delay when triggering notes in Massive even though latency is 5.4ms. Need to spend some time on the jack audio discussion list. Cheers bcoco85.

    I notice it glitches with USB devices
    Were high
    compared to DSP USB interfaces
    Get an PCI card up to date
    That should do it:p

    I'm using firewire. After reloading it it seems to be ok now. Can you route midi ports between apps or is it just hardware? Do i have to register those as well?

    I have a free mixer on my pci card although i can't route multiple asio apps Jack will be super useful. :)

    May as well ask this here, does it work with wdm as well; can you route audio from the web or itunes into Maschine for example?
