A case for the KOMPLETE KONTROL S37

I think it‘s quite sad that there is no 37 keys variant. I‘m using the S25 which often is a tad bit too few keys, but don‘t
have room for 49 keys. Moreover, the S25 seems to be too small to get the big display treatment – otherwise an S25mk2
would have already appeared.

Who would also love a 37 variant? Perhaps we can show enough interest to NI that they consider building it.

 

Not me, I cannot understand how people can get by with less than 61 keys. If it was a case of space, i'd personally sleep on the floor to have a larger desk to fit a minimum of 61 keys.

I guess it becomes a case of where do you stop? Every extra model requires significant infrastructure to sell. Asking stores to order and stock 8 different models of keyboards that are all the same line of product is a rich ask. You could argue that maybe they should replace the S25 with an S37 but then there would be the same/more people complaining there is no super compact model anymore. I assume they have done research on which models are the most popular and based on my experience, 37 keys is a variant that you seldom see as an option probably because it really only benefits a small fraction of people that cannot fit a 49/61 key.

With all the hardware NI have out in the market currently I wouldn't ever count on yet another keyboard variant cropping up

 

I couldn't agree more, mickeyl ! I have 4 octave keys (can't stand on desk next to Maschine) and 25 (quick setup but too small). I d prefer to buy a S37 but otherwise in the market for Novation 37 https://www.justmusic.de/Keys/MIDI-...ler/Masterkeyboards/Novation-Launchkey-37-MK3

 

I do wonder how viable the S25 is.. in 2021.... The main reason is that I prefer the LED displays under each key... vs the M32/A Series "one small display" setup.. But i do wonder if i buy used S25's are they going to be supported over the next few years?

 

Agree, 37 is perfect size for a desk beside a Maschine, and enough keys that that you can still play full chords in every key. And the S series knobs and screens would still fit a 37 key.

 

Let‘s see what happens, when (if?) the next refresh is due…
