This would be awesome. Funny how something that is essentially a free side effect in a physical amp must be designed as an effect in an amp SIM but then again everything must be intentionally designed in an amp SIM.

To be honest, you can generate/control feedback using GR5, as well as with a physical amp.

What is nice about this pedal, is that it removes the requirements to make it happen:
    1. Play with an amp and not headphones
    2. Play loud enough to start the feedback loop

An added benefit is the control you can have on the feedback since it is now simulated.

    Cheers

Of course, that goes without saying.

The point is to get that effect using virtual tools without the physical devices normally used.

a feedback loop between a speaker and the guitar p/u is a totally different thing to a comp. simulated feedback loop. the control you have between speaker and guitar is so subtle and so much greater than any sim.
    hope this helps understanding.

That feedback plug-in is really cool. I like it!
Too bad it requires an iLok. I checked on that and it is $50. If it was a soft license or e-Licenser (which I already have), I would buy it.
Oh well, maybe Steinberg or NI will come out with something like it.

And I guess you talk out of experience because you tried this plug-in yourself? ;)

I won't argue that there will always be a difference. That doesn't mean that:
    - having the option to do it via the computer is a bad thing (it would at least please the neighbours)
    - it cannot be used to create new sounds (in conjunction with automation for example) that wouldn't be possible with an amplifier.

That is at least 2 benefits that would justify the addition of such a plugin. I'm not into high distortion/feedback myself, but it looks like I could have a few hours of fun with it :D

I did not want to sound pedantic and most certainly it's not a bad thing(the sim) it's just that I'm a purist and most certainly a audiophile. this does not mean that I don't use modern technology like I do work with computers for recording and virtual instruments. Just got a Maschine II, not using the record function and play all parts direct into the DAW, so I have more control over the sounds. also I like using acoustic instruments to ad to the sound landscape.:)
