I really like Intakt, it sounds killer but it does do some weird things

Sometimes exported midi files come back in weird time signatures like 16/4 or 3/4

Secondly if you leave Beatmachine you cannot go back to it with out a new instance of Intakt?

Its also bad at detecting the loops bar length.

Just wondering if its my user erros or the program.

It's the program. See my 1/15/04 post re registration issues.
Eventually it'll get cleared up, but, if past experience is a guide, you might want to wait a couple of months before picking up a software update and trying it again. The various screwups re Reaktor and Protools on the Mac never did get straightened out. Other Reaktor issues seem to have been (slowly) resolved.

I'm hammering on NI tech support, which deserves it, but I also realize that all the music software companies have real financial problems which musicians have largely created--i. e., everyone in LA seems to have about $50,000 worth of cracks and as a consequence the software companies are hanging on by their thumbs. If they spent enough money to fix bugs promptly and respond sensibly and quickly to tech support complaints, particularly reg issues, they'd probably go out of business.

That said, the practice of forcing all registration issues over to Germany is completely inane; most of them could be solved with a single phone call if you could phone in the US and speak to a fellow monolingual American tech...
