A little help with workflow in S1 V2

Hello i am using studio one version 2 and i need just some advice on how i want my work flow to be. I want to be able to build patterns in maschine then drag and drop the midi into S1.
I find that when i drag my first pattern and rout the midi into maschine vst it works great. Its only when i try to add to the sequence i built via the maschine vst is when i come across a issue.
Im sure because i have the "midi in" active on maschine that when i try to add more to my patter via maschine im getting input data from S1 and its recording the midi data sent for S1 in maschine all over again.

Is their a way to set this up? I want to be able to build patterns in maschine then drag and drop them in to my daw then add more to my patterns via maschine and drag and drop what i added into my daw.

 

I will preface this by saying I record all my maschine data directly into S1 V2 but if you just want to do drag and drop, What you need to do is create a new instrument for each new group (kit) or sound. Select Maschine for the in and out with the channel for the group/sound. Do the ins and out in maschine relative to the S1 settings and you should be good

 

Hi! I'm totally new to Maschine (just got it in the mail yesterday!) But I too am wanting to use it in S1 V2, and have found the drag and drop method not to be the best for me...so my question is how did you set your system up to record all your data directly into S1?
