this already exists. It is this site: https://maps.djtechtools.com/

what is missing is the explicit blessing of NI, by creating official mappins themselves, and moving user-maps to an official place on eg this forum.

    THIS is what matters here.

somehow I got 9000x downloads for my ddj-1000 map in just 2 years. This is the 10th most popular map for traktor
    https://maps.djtechtools.com/mappings/9279

so the interest is definitely there.

this is only the case for trivial mappings.

Once you add modifiers in the mix, it becomes a lot more complex
worse, after pushing this to the limit I concluded that there are too many features that are impossible to implement in traktor alone
    the solution was BOME:
    https://pestrela.github.io/dj_kb/bome_mappings/#why-i-moved-to-bome-midi-mapping-impossible-features

and hundreds of pages of documentation / videos because it became impossible for any sane person to install this massive hack without a step-by-step guide
    https://github.com/pestrela/dj_maps/blob/main/ddj_1000/1 - BOME version/2 - Documentation/Installation Guide - BOME mappings.pdf

I made a full functional mapping for Denon SC5000 with all 8 modifiers used to the max, including LED feedback on the unit, to maximally mirror the standalone device functionality in traktor. I spent maybe 8 hours on that project. Result - works perfectly fine and many people are happy with it. Didn’t had any issues in that time. Modifiers are a very useful tool and it would be great if we could expand their options and add even more modifiers and logic conditions.

be thankful it actually fit on just one page.
Mine did not, by far. I have hundreds of variables, so I made a compiler for BOME:
    https://github.com/pestrela/dj_maps/blob/main/ddj_1000/9 - Extras/2 - Technical info/Technical Info - BOME side.txt#L2243

If you need more pages you enter the slow preferences window problem
    https://pestrela.github.io/dj_kb/traktor_slow_prefs/

Latest CMDR found exactly WHY this happens. It then fixes the problem, but traktor just recreates this.
    https://www.native-instruments.com/...nces-window-freeze.328315/page-2#post-1870879

all this was requested years and years ago
    https://www.native-instruments.com/...ore-bits-more-conditions.329045/#post-1850327

in general any requests related to MIDI mapping were ignored over many many years..
its sad that the top feature of traktor is simply ignored by the devs IMO.

True, I wish they would listen to us more - we buy the products, we like the features and want to add more if possible, we want also traktor to be a successful dj platform as much as NI...

Traktor’s way of mapping is very unwieldy. There is a massive barrier to even begin. I had to read a **** ton of manuals and look a videos to figure things out.

The real question is, why should the user do the work, when there are already other companies that provide a plug and play user experience?

Well it's been awhile since a Traktor DJ 2 update (2.4.1 - 2020-06-05) and the road map that was originally promised seems to be lost. There has been update to Traktor Pro 3. Nothing that really grabs me. I am not one for streaming services. I have over 50,000 song in my current collection and growing so. Did like the browser update but writing tags from Traktor Pro 3 now would also delete track info that was useful to me that I had put in the tags. So now I cannot write the tags from Traktor pro 3 anymore. One full year without any update seem very long for a parallel update promise. It been all most three week since the new promise of new hardware and software update. Looking at the 25 anniversary hardware released I can't see the software changing too much. I did like how Traktor Pro 3 v3.51 runs on windows 11. It runs a lot smoother and loads 100 time faster on both my laptop and desktop. Hopefully on the next promised update I will get one of these request.
    1. Smart sync x2 and /2
    2. Mobile library sync like Rekordbox DJ - wishing on a star
    3. Instant STEM and vocal/music/drum isolation/ automatic AI-based stems - My 2 cents not after seeing the 25 anniversary hardware
    4. 64 bar and 128 bar loop integration
    5. Mp4 video recording of my mix like in Virtual DJ.
    6. Quantize Value - 1/8th beat, 1/4 beat, 1/2 beat, 1 beat, 2 beats, 4 beats - Traktor DJ 2 has it
    7. Flexible beat grids - My 2 cents - No other DJ program has done this correctly yet. Rekordbox seems to be the best so far but not perfect even on simple shift

Reminds me of a conversation I had, about 10 years ago, with Silvio Zeppieri the then Denon DJ Brand Manager who at the time thought that Native Instruments making its own DJ hardware was a mistake.
Sometimes I think he was right.

The real answer is, because you cant programm or do the same stuff with plug and play and one button mapping without more options in other companies solutions. We nerds want the Traktor complex mapping and it is still not advanced enought sadly with only 2 mods.

    Agreed
The frustrating bit is that this is probably the easiest feature to add by the devs:

Something that already exists, we just would like more copies of it

    #define N_MODIFIERS 2
Copy paste the code to extend the powerset of AND / OR combinstions
    Add rows to the GUI

    (???)

I have no clue of what you're trying to say. You mean to say that NI, with it's most feature-rich editors, can't provide a single shred of convenience for it's customers, because of that said feature-richness, which in fact still isn't complex enough for some 0,1% of the market?

Mapping is painfully cumbersome, and NI stopped making hardware, so what are the non-nerd users supposed to do now?

Use the Traktor HW or compatible HW for the chosen SW, download the mapping for their HW, learn the basics of importing mapping, google around for some fun? Or you know, you can play-pause in any other sw

I see a lot of discussion here about midi mapping. I consider myself to be fairly good at it but no matter how good my mapping skills are, I will never be able to fully use the potential of my Rane 70 mixer (like implementing post fader FX). NI should really step up here and start partnerships with other hardware manufacturers.

    Hi there,
will there ever be support / mapping with screen for DenonDJ Prime 4?

Virtual DJ and Serato are already doing this.

Pioneer devices are also supported by NI

I could imagine that many users would be enthusiastic about this ...
