A message from the team regarding iMaschine 2

Hello everyone,

We’d like to bring you some news about iMaschine 2.

As many of you know, there are some problems with the iMaschine 2 iOS app right now:

1. Due to changes in iOS 14, the iMaschine 2 app does not load user content or user projects.
2. Our latest Expansions have not been available in iMaschine 2.

We are committed to fixing the iOS 14 bug, and making sure you will be able to load user content and user projects again. Next to that, we will also be looking into iOS 15, to make sure there won’t be any issues later this year when Apple releases iOS 15.

We will also look into the Expansion issue, but at this point in time, we can not commit to anything yet. It might be an easy thing to fix, but it might also be something difficult. We will come back to this at a later point in time.

I just delete the app and lost all my projects.
Is it possible to refind them ?

Hi Elias, Unfortunately not. When you delete an app in iOS it also deletes all the data associated with that app

Where have you guys been all this time this problem has been going on since iOS 13? How about the expansions we all paid for that don't show up???? Do you know how much music I lost due to crashes? Really a lot! I'm luckily over it but I will never forget. Why don't you team up with izotope so it can be brought to to a higher level? Izotope has spire pro. Where have the creative people gone in the company? I don't have to tell you that I am severely disappointed because you don't care anyway, but this behavior towards customers who rely on a good product is distasteful.... Greetings Hebreww

 

Hi Hebreww, there are two different things going on here:

1. Expansions that you've bought in the iOS app in the past that don't show up anymore>> this will be fixed
   
2. Our latest Expansions have not been released for iMaschine 2 >> it will be investigated if we can fix this

 

I believe there is more to the story. I and more people have expressed ourselves about the keyboard often not working. And I believe IMaschine app is not really resistant to hypertouch. If you tap too much and too fast problems appear.

 

My reply was to clear up the misunderstanding about the Expansions, as you seemed to have understood the post as "It's not sure yet if the Expansions I have bought in the past will get fixed"

For now, this is all the info I have gotten from the team, but I'm happy to collect your feedback and pass it on. But of course, I cant promise anything here

The problem is, the problems have gotten worse so now it's piling up. native Instruments needs to realize that we've been complaining about the app for years and now finally we're being seen as people. Because simply no help at all was coming all this time.

 

I've been on iOS 14 for quite some time, so I'm not quite sure I am reading this correctly.
1. I have nice user projects on my iPhone that load easily in iMaschine 2. I just created a new project, saved it in my User Library, and it loaded back in fine.

2. It would be nice if you can have the latest expansions show up in Maschine 2. The last I have is Soul Magic and thought the existence of Maschine+ yielded the decision to stop creating iMaschine version of Maschine expansion packs. I've been using iMaschine since version 1 and love it. It would really be nice is you could create some iMaschine-specific expansions like you did with Kaoz Theory, Dirty Knock, nd Swagg City. It's a great sketchpad.

 

Often go back to using IMaschine , still love it, and super happy it’s not going to be abandoned??

 

? I would like to see iMaschine evolve into what I know could become an absolute beast as a companion for both Maschine+ and MK3, but I know the NI team is doing their best and that is good enough for me.

I have another important notification regarding the processing of imported audio samples or folders in IMaschine 2. This in my experience never ended well with the expansion I converted from desktop to IMaschine and that applies to other audio samples. It is not motivating when your imported audio samples are not allowed to be longer than 10 seconds. These ugly points should be fixed very soon with a better service of working with the program.

I already had a hunch about this but now I'm noticing more and more that when I make a beat on my iPad or phone it sounds different when I transfer it....

I've noticed that when I transfer a project from iMaschine to my desktop, it sounds different than it does on my phone or iPad... I don't know how this comes about....
for example all my chokes don’t translate the same way I hear them on my phone.. it becomes a totally different feel/track..
really disturbing..

IMaschine is a great creative partner for maschine 2 period, for scratch ideas...and doesn't need much more. I love the simplicity, however I do miss those mini expansions. I think it's beautiful as it is.
