    Hi all,

I love my GR3+Kontrol, but I upgraded my main PC to Vista Ultimate (64 bit) and have just found out that there aren't any Rig Kontrol drivers...yet. (Serves me right for not spending more time on the forums, I guess. ;) )

As I'm a relative novice with a PC and not entirely comfortable with the idea of dual-booting, can anyone advise on the use of virtual machines? What I'm thinking of is using Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 (or similar) in Vista U64 to run GR3+Kontrol using XP Pro 32 bit (and drivers!). Has anyone tried this or have any thoughts as to the feasibility of this?

Would be great to have your thoughts!

    Cheers,

    s75

Virtual PC emulates the hardware that the host OS runs on. This means you'll finish up with an emulated generic soundcard instead of your Rig Kontrol on the 32-bit OS.

Afraid you're stuck waiting for the driver or dual booting for now.

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for the info - I thought there might be a snag. Oh well, back to the drawing board, I guess...

    Cheers!

    HI,
Am I understanding this correctly, that Guitar Rig 3 with Kontroller will NOT work with Vista (64bit)? Thanks. I ask because I was going to by GR3 as a stand alone to use. Thanks!

They first promised the drivers in the first half of 2008 then they said by Oct 2008 But I don't see it happening anytime soon. Maybe never.

Don't speculate when you don't know...I don't know either, which is why I haven't said anything.

Sorry Marc but i am getting a little frustrated. We have been waiting a very long time without even an update as to when we might see this driver.

The webpage clearly states "The release is currently planned for the second half of 2008", they have until Dec 31st to make good on it. You're not going to hear anything more from them because I think they have made it clear what they are doing. I wouldn't look for anything more from them on this.

You just have to be patient!

I have been very patient however it was first stated in the first half of 2008 then it was stated by October 2008 and now it has been stated the second half of 2008.

I would just like to be able to use my rig kontrol 3 is all. It wasn't given to me for free.

I guess I can say I am starting to lose faith is all after being told so many times that the date has been changed. And no offence but I do find it a little rude to tell me to just be patient perhaps i took that the wrong way but with the exclamation mark beside it it seemed like you were yelling at me. ;)

I'm sure the driver is under development if NI said it is but I don't think I'm alone in my being tired of waiting and being told vague answers like before the end of the second half of this year.

    Hi Merritt,

I'll watch my online tone. I wasn't intending to be stern at all. I know that this is frustrating and I wish I had more for you. Let's all be patient together.

Sorry if my ! upset you at all.

    Marc
