since i start with maschien this scene/pattern concept was feeling wrong and overcomplicatetd and time-wasting.

i tryd really hard to see the advantage to the live-concept, but i couldnt find. well, there is a big problem with the pad/pattern marriage, and the live-concept wont work. but i guess, i found a smart 3trd way, resulting in a refreshed scnee/pattern concept wich is "dwon-compatible" and should u all make happy.
its a little bit abstract and maybe you will first understand if read the whole text and my english isnt so well. but i guess the clever of u will understand and see the potencial of this. i try to easy as possible to explain.

but fisrt of all: what are the winnings by this?

    - we dont need millions of pattern-variations
    - we dont need worry about this: is the scene in focuss
    - we dont need worry about this: is this pattern-changing fitting to his childs
    - we can right "record" what we hear
    - we could make breaks and variations ON THE FLY witch normal take hours and hours
    - and a lot of other

fisrt of all we have the old patterns as known, with the pad-marriage and their normal pattren vs. scene behaviar. but they are only "bascic-patterns".
that means they only work as "normal" as long i dont use a "alternativ" button: a special-mode. for example we could use pattern+shift (or scene AND pattern + B1) and if we do: we see that pattern AND scene is illuminated. that gives us the optical controll, that now the beahivaior is quit different.
keep in mind, the following happens only in this special mode.

    1.
in this mode the scenes run in the loop we set before and the selectetd scene is auto-focussed - the scene wich is playing is automaticaly selcted to edit.

    2.
the normal "dead knobs and display behaviar" like in the other special-modes is not set this time. means: the display and knobs are still in "accses-mode" as known. also the temporär select -,mute-, and padmodfe-button with its sound-chooses/mute, play....

    3.
do u remember? we have only "basic-patterns". but there is a another kind of "patterns", which will automatically created called "scene-patterns".
if we now in this special-mode make changings during the seqeuncer runs the changings were automatically written to pattern/scene wich is in focus. BUT THIS CHANGINGS are only written in the "scene-pattern" not in the "basic-pattern".
Maschine makes automaticly duplicates of the basisc-pattern wich only exixt in the scene-lane (maybe A1-01; A1-02....). the basic-pattern and of course all of their "childs" were not overwritten by this.

    4.
lets play and "record"! if we in this mode all is written ONLY to the "scene-pattern" which is via auto seqeuncer-scene and group-choose in focuss. that should include all notes, all mutes, all autowrite, etc.
ideal would be if "mutes" were written as notes (for later editing- see 5.).
so u allways get what u hear without to worry about re-fokus the scene, or be in fear how it sounds with the pattern and its childs in other scenes.

AND it should also creat complet new "scene-patterns" build up from existing ones: if i switch between patterns during one scene is focus a completly new scenee-pattern is creating including the notes/autodatas from the exits as long as they were playing.
so u can make breaks on the fly which needs hours if u would do it in the old way.

    5.
thsi "independend-pattern" should also work for mouse-editing: if we in this special mode and make some note-edits - they happens only to to "scene-pattern" not to the "basic-pattern".

    6.
if i really like a "scene-pattern" and guess i could use it often, so there should be a "make new "basic-pattern" feature."

    ---------------

i hope u can imagine the possiblitys and time-save with this refreshed scene/pattern concept.
