A WORKING midi mode on macs

    I'm only writing this in feature requests because the devs monitor this area. Many feel that the importance of solving this problem is not getting through to the development team through regular channels.

    We're on v1.8 now.
    Midi mode still freezes on macs as long as controller editor isn't open.
    This bug has been present for 2 years now, and it makes Maschine useless as a midi controller. And what a great controller it could be!

    The bottom line is that if midi mode is unreliable in performance, it does not get used. NI sold us a product claiming it works as a midi controller, and it does not.
    IMO fixing this bug MUST be a priority. Unfortunately it doesn't seem that's the case.

    NI - Hotfix please!

    You know I'm with you 100% on this matter! I second this motion.....better yet....put this first in your priority NI! As a MIDI controller which Maschine is advertised as in addition to a groove sequencer/sampler it's a failure for MIDI mode and really needs to get fixed ASAP. Certain bugs we deal with for updates because we usually see some progress on it and a fix come sooner but c'mon now.....really? 2 years and this still has not been fixed? As you said, Zac, this could be a great MIDI controller if they can take care of this finally.

    Totally second this.
    Tried Maschine + Traktor out at a gig for the first time two days ago, and this happened to me 20 minutes into the set.
    I unplugged and replugged the controller to no avail, had to mix by touchpad for a few tunes while thinking about what to do.
    Then out of desperation opened Controller editor, and it started working again...

    i'd like to add my +1 to this, the issue seems to have been improved with the recent update, but it still freezes up on me. good thing is it seems to work again when i unplug and replug machine

    Sounds like an issue specific to your setup or another problem. AFAIK the latest 1.82 update and new Mac drivers have completely eliminated the issue.
