Hello all, my presets are grayed out. I tried rebuilding the database but to no effect. I see that it is a bug on windows. does this hold true for the mac as well or is there a fix? if not, can I get the beta? No offense but, it's really not practical to use absynth without the browser working properly. I need to be able to go through sounds by keyword and right now, its just not possible. Incredibly frustrating. Thus, how do I get my hands on the beta?

    ?

Where do you see that it's a bug under Windows?
They definitely shouldn't be grayed out on either platform. Is this with the 5.0.1 update?

huh, maybe I was looking at an older thread. In that case, my apologies. yes, this is with the latest update. it happens in both the plug in and stand alone. When I rebuild the database, the grayed out presets disappear. after quitting absynth and relaunching, the presets return but are grayed out.

    Reboot your Mac after rebuilding.

It sounds to me as if you aren't giving it time enough to rebuild. Are you letting it rebuild until the pinwheel in Absynth's GUI stops?

Also, do you have the paths to samples and user content set correctly in Absynth's browser?

actually, there is no pinwheel. I hit rebuild and the grayed presets immediately disappear. From my perspective, it happens instantly.

    thanks for your help btw

Ah- there should be a pinwheel- it will take time to build. Let me ask a couple people...

It takes a few seconds before the pinwheel starts spinning, then you should wait for it to stop before quitting, usually takes a few minutes. If this does not correct the problem please let us know.

The pinwheel appears next to the "save as" button in the top part of the window, it's kind of discrete, maybe you didn't see it? Have you changed the location of the sounds? Is the Options->browse>directories list pointing to the right place? Maybe you changed the name of the volume?

This thing is still messed up. I uninstalled it, removed pref's, everything that I could think of and then installed it again and applied the update. presets are still grayed out.

Did you reinstall from the original installer? That's what has most of the content...

Yes, I purchased it as a direct download. I had to install the original first and then apply the update. when I stalled the original, I tried the preset thing and then installed the update.

Sorry, I haven't heard of a problem like this that wasn't resolved by rebuilding the database. Have you contacted support?
