    Hi,

For those who sync all of their decks to the master clock, it would be great if it was possible to control the master tempo from the S4 controller itself. For example, by using shift + one of the endless encoders on the controller.

The main reason for this is changing the master tempo during a set. For instance, starting off slow and then speeding up gradually as the mix evolves.

One other thing is that it would also be cool to be able to choose a custom increment size so if you are only going from 120 to 130 bpm, you could choose smaller increments and if you make a drastic tempo change then you could use larger increments that allow you to quickly jump by 10 or more bpm, for example.

    Thank you.

I totally agree. I sync all my decks to the master clock as well and gradually change the master tempo. There is no way to do this from the s4 controller I had to map this to my laptop keyboard.

I'd love to see this natively too, I play downtempo ranging from 70-120 BPM in one set, so this would make things a lot easier.

Thanks Rainer. Is it possible to map the Master Clock Tempo to the "Loop Recorder" knob? I don't plan on using it plus it would be nice to have one knob for incrementing and decrementing the tempo.

    Thanks,
    Antonio

I didn't try but yes I think it is possible. Just add a user mapping with the corresponding command(s). But so you know the native function of the control will always apply so your loop recorder's d/w will still move. Not really an issue if you're not using it, could be critical if by mistake - silly things happen sometimes - you start recorder something.

to avoid that, u just need to make a custom rule in the user map for the original command and set it to 0 increments or variations

I'd like to see this natively too. Having to go to the mouse to do this is a pain. Somehow using the tempo faders for this when the master is enabled is another idea.

To elaborate on using a tempo fader to do this, let the user set the tempo range they want to use for the set, e.g. 110-135. 0 on the fader would correspond to 110 and max on the fader to 135. The smaller the range you use, the more fine tune control over the master tempo you have, and visa versa.

Here is one way to do it:

So, you're syncing to master clock, la da da da...
With one song playing (here you want to do a tempo change) press the "Master" button on the controller, this switches off master sync, and make the currently playing track the master. Change the tempo of the song to what you want. Press "Master" again, master clock takes over at the tempo of the playing deck.

Its more of a workaround than a solution (can't really change tempo while more than one deck is playing, without awkward smashing of the sync buttons), but it covers me for tempo changes, and I don't have to use the mouse.

This way works for me too:

    Tracks synced to master

Press shift and sync on any track.

Track is now the master (same tempo as the master clock)

Using the pitch fader i can change tempo and all tracks follow.

Then when i am done press master and you are back to master clock.
