Ableton 9.1 Template - I can't wait any more

Help! I can't find the link to the last version of Live 9 before it became 9.1. Anyone know where it is on the Ableton site? I've had enough of waiting.. looks like nobody is going to fix it up.

Lesson one: Check EVERYTHING for compatibility (by googling) before you update anything. Just putting it out there, hope someone helps you out.

 

You're right of course.. I just assumed it would be fine. My fault for being an enthusiastic early adopter!

 

Do you not have the old installer file as part of "Time Machine"?

 

This is another thing I should be doing that I don't lol.

 

I've got copies of them but they're just the Standard version, 32 bit for OSX.

so does that mean you won't have dual monitor support then?

it seems as though NI have released the 1.6 2 - 2014-01-30 - version of the Controller App.

maybe you don't have to wait any more?

I just downloaded and installed 2.6 Maschine update and 1.6.2 of Controller Editor, and in Studio there was no change in Ableton control, although it does recognize the Studio; that is, Studio as a control surface for Live still doesn't work for me. No new template on the site, though, so I'd reserve judgement until that gets updated.....

i have new Ableton Live 9 Template Support Files for Maschine, Maschine_Mk2 and Maschine_Studio.

Yes. Although the file is dated 30/01/2014 the internal contents are dated 30/10/2013. Either way it still does not work for me. Can you confirm that you have a working template?

Where did you find the new template support files?

I looked for them using the Service Center, and they were still the old files...

Nevertheless, I downloaded them and reinstalled. I see only template files for Maschine Mk2 (and Maschine, which I don't use). I copied the files into Live's Midi Remote folder, and Maschine Studio does not appear in the control surface list, although I do get MIDI ins and outs for Studio....

So for me (win7) they haven't done anything and Live 9.1 is still broken..

 

I'm pretty sure its the script that's broken, all in NI's ball park.

I have my maschine temp working for my z2 and my maschine, but only session mode is working


**Plus the scene function for the live template was never implemented properly like a launchpad. Maschine will never compete with push in live bc it will never be plug n play, but for us willing to do the work to get abletone/maschine control, I think NI should have a support staff for ableton templates, as its not a hard feature to implement, needs one or two programmers..

Anyone ever try and fixup an apc script and turn it into a maschine one, python is beyond me, but I would if I could.

 

Where do you get the TSFs? I've read the how to which says it's in 'Content Downloads and Updates' but it's not there.

 

If they have removed it, it is probably a tacit admission that they don't work anymore in Live 9.1. That may be progress, and there maybe an update coming soon. And I'm still waiting for Godot.....

 

I have the exact same problem with Maschine Mk2. Maschine's software can't nearly measure up to Ableton's, but I love the Maschine as a controller. So it's just been sitting here for months, unused. I'm probably just going to get a midi fighter, and if NI or Ableton can't fix this soon it's probably gunna be time to ditch the Machine. I'll never update again until I know everything will work for sure. So bogus how this is taking so long. And I can't find live 9.0.6 anywhere as well.

 

I guess it broke and they are deciding not to fix it in hopes of encouraging more people to go out and buy Push.
