Ableton doesn't see Native Instruments Pack

I bought a S61MKII and I can't let Ableton recognize the NI instruments rack. I followed the steps. Ableton sees the plugins, but not the rack.

So in step 4 from the installation it says (To load KOMPLETE KONTROL in Live, drag the KOMPLETE KONTROL Instrument Rack from the browser to an empty MIDI Track) but I do not see the Instrument Rack so I am stuck. For weeks now actually...

I have even deleted and installed Ableton again, because I had a previous version, but that didn't help.

Only thing different on my computer is the location of the instrument rack (C: > Users > *Username* > Documents > Ableton > User Library > Presets > Instruments > Instrument Rack) which is different on my computer. But I have only one Instrument Rack map and I have placed the file KK vst.adg in that map.

    I really appreciate the help.

    HEy Micha74,
What version of Ableton are you using ? Since Ableton 10.1 and and KOMPLETE KONTROL 2.1.2. you don't need to copy remote scripts or use the VST rack, as you can see in this article :
Setting Up Ableton Live for KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series MK2 (Windows)

Hi, thanks for replying. I use Ableton 10.1 and have used that with a previous (Alesis) midi controller. I followed the steps with NI and I don't see the instrument rack under instruments. I do however see it now under plugins so I guess it works. The instructions are not very clear if the maps are not as described. The simple solution would be to describe where to put the Komplete Kontrol VST.adg in order to see it under the instrument tab in stead of it appearing in the plugin tab. But again, -no thanks to the instructions- I kind of managed... Would appreciate some further feedback, thanks in advance.

    Hello Micha74,
As I said earlier, if you are using Ableton 10.1 you don't need any instrument rack for Komplete Kontrol. Host integration should be automatic. Is something not working as expected ?

i do not understand this. The instructions say that I should drag the NI instruments rack in a midi track.
It is step 4 from these instructions: Setting Up Ableton Live for KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series MK2 (Windows) – Native Instruments (native-instruments.com)

To load KOMPLETE KONTROL in Live, drag the KOMPLETE KONTROL Instrument Rack from the browser to an empty MIDI Track. The KOMPLETE KONTROL Instrument Rack is called:

    • Komplete Kontrol VST.adg (VST plug-in format)
You will find the rack here in the Live browser: Instruments > Instrument Rack. Make sure not to use the VST version instead of the Instruments Rack version of KOMPLETE KONTROL, if not you might experience connection issues as described in this article.

Hey Micha74, please read carefully, what you quoted is for Ableton Live 9 :

Ok thanks. Then the problem remains that my instruments rack is not visible under instruments. It is however under plugins so it kind of works. Thanks again.
