Maschine isn't really geared toward live audio looping. It can be done, I believe, but it doesn't work quite as well it was supposed to, from what I've read.

    This is the method:
However, it doesn't play back immediately, it will wait until the next bar starts. So a workaround could be to just play live double the length of the loop you want to record i.e. play the section twice and by the time you've repeated the sampled loop live, Maschine will play the sample back and loop it.

However, this isn't as direct an approach as the Looper plugin for Live. To get that kind of functionality you could use SooperLooper or Mobius or another looper plugin now that you can use 3rd party plugs inside Maschine. And, in my opinion, Looper, though simple and straightforward, isn't the best looper plugin available.

fwi, with the 1.6 Beta you can record something for a set number of bars and it will play back immediately.

    Really? That's amazing. :)

Thanks for letting me/us know this. I hadn't read anything about that in the 1.6 info I've read, hence not knowing.

I'm looking forward to getting Maschine tomorrow even more now! :D

Does this require the same set-up I quoted above? Or is it just in the 1.6 manual and I can read about it tomorrow in there?

to clarify, it was a bug that has been fixed.

the way i do it is to draw a note in the Pattern for however long you want to record and also switch the Envelope to ADSR - rather than one shot. i also make sure the polyphony for the sound is set to 1.

but yes is used sync mode.... and as you can see my method is different, but that is just my way of working and maybe you will prefer the other method.
