Ableton Live 10 x MK3 MIDI Control Mode Weird(?)

When I run Maschine as plugin inside Live 10 I encounter a strange problem.

If I use Maschine MK3 in MIDI mode to play instruments in Live it's fine until I switch to Maschine mode and play Maschine as a VST.
When I switch back to MIDI mode the pads don't trigger the Live Instruments or the MIDI tracks, instead, it performs editing tasks such as undo, redo, quantise etc and I see a notification along the bottom of Live. I tried pressing the keyboard button on MK3 to take me back to Keyboard mode(?) but it doesn't change anything it just stays like this.

I can remove Maschine MK3 as a control surface within Live MIDI menu but then I lose the Host Transport Control.

There is also a bunch of other weird things going on like the pan knob range is really small and kinda bugs out when I turn a knob on Maschine. If I manually map it with the Live MIDI Mapper its fine.

Is this just because the Template is incomplete or do I need to change something?

Any help would be much appreciated.

It's killing my ability to even use Ableton at the moment.

I'm running Live 10.0.1 and Maschine MK3 v2.7.2 on Windows 10
