Ableton Red Box

I was doing some research and i found out some infos saying that Ableton protects gear like APC and Launchpad by not enabling their features for other hardware like Maschine.

I can't get this red box to appear in my session so it's pretty confusing since you don't have any visual feedback from your session and you may trigger the wrong clip.

Is there any way to do it ?

I'm not sure I completely understand your problem. The features of the APC and Launchpad (namely clip launching and other tightly integrated functions with Live) are specific to those controllers. Why would you try to use Maschine for those functions if you already have either of those two controllers?

Unless you mean that you think Maschine is creating some kind of conflict and disabling those features -- in which case I suggest updating to the latest build versions of Live 7 or 8.

I use an APC and Maschine and have encountered no issues with the red box not appearing.

I think he's trying to get a "red box" like apc 40 or launchpad using maschine. He's saying ableton protects their partner controllers by not allowing other hardware to do the same stuff.

You won't be able to do everything you can with apc or launchpad with maschine, specifically the integration of the clip view and the rectangles.

That's like expecting the apc or launchpad to be able to browse maschines sounds and integrate with the maschine software the same way the controller does.

that's the point of an integrated controller, you get features not available in general controllers

I wish we could use these functions with maschine. But i'm still really happy about it, it's amazing how fast and creative you can be using this great piece of gear.

The red box would help me not to make any mistakes launching clips, but maybe someday they will "unlock" it !

Max for Live may be able to solve this problem eventually.
