Most people look for forums when they enter problems in their operations. This Spektral forum is kind of dead. Maybe because it is a great program. After the Spektral 1.5 free upgrade (about a one year ago) this program became rock solid stable for me at least. Spektral is always there. If you talk to it, it will respond to you! It listens to you, that´s for sure. A spirit of undefined sound. This is the best delay I have ever heard. And much more than a delay, including countless number of presets, covering almost everything. It is possible to do amasing things only with your voice and Spektral, making the singer sound a bit like a drummer or a veteran robot. It´s both good for experimental music and (pop or rock if used moderately). The flexibility, the user friendly and cool interface is great and every delay-beat can synced to tempo, even the triplets too. The extremely high resolution and the intelligence of the this delay makes it sound very convincing. After using Spektral for 2 years, it still amases me. I welcome the Vokator (I am shure that one is also good) as a new member in the effect plug-in family, but Spektral is everything for me when I need effects of hyphnotic quality. As it stands for now, I think Spektral is maybe the best one in the NI lineup. Thanks NI for brilliant work.

I use it as a vst plug-in inside my Cubase SL for Windows. Maybe this is the best platform for the NI plugs. My soundcard is Echo Mia. Everything related to SD is rock solid stable.

so then... i will call you dansibjorninn1 and you dansibjorninn2. we will make an expedition to both peaks of these two mountains in africa...
    no.
as standalone (win) i have 'some' problems with SD, (performance, sound file selection), but i love all kinds of delays and reverbs, so that's ok.

    best wishes

    Hi delayed spektralists,

I am an ex-drummer with an internal and biologigal beat clock. My SD is always on tempo, tight on the beat. No latency problems for me, both for playing live or in the playback (I mean, how can be a latency there?). My soundcard is Echo Mia, offering me latency of only 6-7 ms. I have heard some guys complain about SD, or at least not getting perfect results. I have to admit, it littlebit irretates me. It´s not good for the reputation of SD. That will lead to lower sales of SD, and therefore stop any development or service for the SD.

What you must have to be able to use SD properly:
    1. Acceptable, 24 bit, low-latency soundcard.
    2. Fast computer (1 gig processor and half gig ram)
    3. A host sequencer software like Cubase or Logic.
    4. Windows XP or other up to date environments.

Standalone: A total crap. To good to be true.
Cheap soundcards for computer games: Get a life!
Slow cpu´s: It´s time to upgrade, micer!
Windows 98: C´mon man. I like Beatles too.

Otherwise, keep on whining about SD...Go ahead dude! Make your day...

    ...and hava a good one.

I don´t agree with this dansibjörninn. I am a lazy ass, and a micer. I like shortcuts, and I want the easy way out. I am the stubborn one. Yeah, gonna have latency or crashes all the time. I will call it "bugs" and feel better...

    Best to all of you.

"Lucy in the Sky, with a Diamond". A good combo when listening to SD. As with cheap computer game soundcard, a redneck beer is not gonna do it! You must dive deeper than that...

SD is not for the simple minded, that´s why it sells badly.

I remember dancing bears. Haven´t been same since. Maybe, that´s why I got this name dansibjörninn. Or maybe something from an ancient myth. Don´t know man.

    Das Spektral ist sehr gut!

if SD sells badly and will be dead soon, there is hope that NI will enable FFT in reaktor.
    great!
so: please, don't buy it! let it die!

    no no no.
i disagree with this reaktor-elitism. i mean: if you want FFT, use MAX/MSP or at least jMAX, which is free and works even on linux. (btw. there are even emagicEMI drivers out there for linux). SD is the BEST EVER delay plug.
    buy it.

    SD users are quiet paperboys/girls.

No, I don´t think so. SD is ahead of it´s time. With bigger and faster computers, SD has future. Battery has not. They need to cut the price down, and offer a good deal on the Vokator (FFT Bundle). It´s hard now to sell plug-ins, that only offer effects.

    Das Spektral ist gut.
