I like the high expectation of this job. It is a good idea to describe such high qualities which shows that Stephan Schmitt want to push REAKTOR to a very high quality product.
In Germany you would say NI's REAKTOR is like Maybach and Mercedes.
I hope they will find such a genius.
Perhaps they will find two „half”-Genius who are a big team!

I did send my CV with all Reaktor works, however I'm not looking forward to any reply, but I get nothing to loose anyway. I'm sure something is gonna happen with Reaktor very soon, as well as with its forum, because NI is finally started to pay serious attention to it (take a look at my Future Requests topic for example or Thomas job topic).

good point aleks, i am realizing this too. i swear the other night when i saw the job posting in made me all cheese-grinned out and say yes out loud like i won something, sad i know. i am one of those people who knows its going to take some serious work to learn even in part this software. i am a noob still in my eyes, and i am trying to decide weather i should learn more about it, or should i (i hate to say it) move to a temporarily exclusive max set-up. this is too much info, i am just really happy to see the community and product being addressed even in part. aleks what are you in school for? maybe, if you wanted, you could learn to code. i would think this would be a generally useful skill set. if this is not anything you would do in your wildest dreams, i apologize. just ideas...

This is very important - you should decide what to do. Although Max manual is more friendly, I will never move to it. Why? Simply because I find Max itself less friendly. It's a matter of taste, but surely reason of not learning Reaktor is reason to move to Max.

I am learning, but it's too late I guess. I'm going to have exam on all sciences from math to programming on 17th of June and if I pass it I will study informatics. This will give me more opportunities. However, I'm not sure I will pass it, because not too much time left and I started to prepare myself very late. So that's how it is.

another reason to stay with reaktor - Max is shortly to be available only as a plug-in in Ableton!

Are you sure you aren't thinking of Pluggo? That's being discontinued and folded into Max for Live. But AFAIK there will still be standalone Max/MSP.

edit: or wait, you mean there's never going to be VST export for Max 5?

Yeah, I thought that as well, no export. Guess that leaves SE and SM on the list. Options are closing oh, well so much for progress. But the other hand why close it? Because no one is really interested? Seems silly since it would be cool to export things for live, intended for use in live, marketed for live.

It's very late for NI to be filling this position now. 5 came out a long time ago. This work on Core should have been progressing all along.

As far as the Max plug-in only available to Live. Nice way to smack your customers in the face.
Makes tremendous sense to have a program designed for experimental composers constrained to a program that has rigid conceptions about musicality and sounds like a$$.

when i first saw the ad, i did think the same...

only the other day my friend said he was going to get R5, but when i informed him how old R5 was, he said he would wait for R6, but based on this job ad being put out it suggested a long wait...

Or does it? maybe they've developed it and need somebody to maintain it, update it etc...oh the theories

I'm still looking forward to Reaktor On The Record part on this forum. And I do hope that NI will dedicate more time to this product. It's not fair for Max users btw what they do if it is true. That's awful marketing solution IMHO.

Possibly not, but with the combination of the time difference and the language difference it would be difficult - especially in the early stages. From my experience, small software teams like this really need to be able to have brainstorming meetings pretty frequently, and easy access to one another to be able to hash out ideas on a whiteboard. The emphasis here is on *easy*... the amount of time team members spend avoiding communication because it's a hassle magnifies the actual development time by a huge amount. Especially when I'm sure NI has a large - and largely undocumented - library of objects you'd need to get familiar with and the holders of that knowledge would be there in the office.

Lastly, my development skills are sharp, but my C++ is rusty; so that'd mean even more stupid questions that are best asked when you run into people at the coffee machine :D

    Cheers,
    Chris

It specifies Berlin at the top of the page for most of the positions:( . Oh well, at least the positions is there.

For good reason as CList stated above.

maybe the work on Core has been already continued ..? working for an software-company specialized on e-commerce-backend-products and logistics i do know the fact that we do hire coders and then guide 'em thru already existing development-processes we're currently working on and and just a short time after the introduction we do assign these new coders partial tasks of the project in progress. that way we even do outsource smaller part-projects and we do successfully work even with developers from abroad, like slowenia and norway. and for sure NI does work with guys not just located in Berlin, erm .. like.. poeple .. living .. for example .. in .. maybe... let's say ... the ... Ukraine ... *biggrin* (nah, it's not me) ...

yeah i just meant going all out. which i have in some roundabout way slowly started to get a little more serious lately. i am not good with the numbers so i know it will take me a little work to figure out how far i want to go with building instruments vs making music, a whole other thread im sure for most of us.
