I've used my plug and play z2 for 2 gigs and loved it. Got to my gig last night, setup and worked again fine.

Put my MacBook into sleep mode (closed the lid) until my room opened..... Came back to open my room and the z2 would not for the life of me pick up the signal my Cdjs were sending to it!

When I open traktor the decks are usually In thru mode but for some reason they were opened up ready to load tracks in?

Restarted the laptop, mixer, double checked connections and although all the buttons, faders were working..... The Traktor buttons to activate time code feature just didnt seem to do anything. Cdjs were working fine but the sound signal was not showing on the mixer or coming through?

I'm a professional dj in large busy venues so can't be having this happen again. Any ideas what happened?

Just sent this to Support. Hopefully this was a one off!

    ---------

When a macbook lid is closed the laptop is placed into sleep mode which i'm assuming *MAY* be an issue here.

    --------------------
I have used my Traktor Kontrol z2 mixer twice since purchase without any issues at all. After updating to TP2.6 it was plug and play. I could not find any drivers that your site told me to install as these weren't on your website

Upon the third time to try and use the z2 i setup all my gear and tested it without any issues and waited for my room to open at my gig - i shut down the equipment and closed the lid on my laptop but left it running.

When arriving back to the laptop - i switched on my equipment (2 x cdj 850 + z2) and opened up the software.

All controls on the z2 worked fine (all knobs etc) along with the faders but for some reason - it would not pickup the timecode signal sent from my cdj 850's and convert them into audio routing through the mixer. When pressing the "Traktor" buttons at the top of the mixer to switch the mixer back to standalone mixer it worked fine with standard cds so there was 100% no issue with my Pioneer CDJ 850s.

One thing i did notice is that when pressing play on my cdj 850 - The Traktor software would not allow me to activate any of the absolute/relative buttons.

As i'm a professional DJ 5 nights a week to thousands i cannot afford for a failure like this again so would appreciate your help incase i've done something wrong to make this happen?

This has happened to me 3 times also MinnieHaus. What I did was play around with some of the settings...The one I think that made the difference was when I went into the settings (Prefrences)>Audio Set Up> Routing.....Then I clicked the restore button...Surprisingly it went back to normal for whatever odd reason. I totally understand your frustration.

I had a similar problem (and still do) with my Denon X1600 Mixer and my SC3900 Decks. Let me "brak it down" for you.

Mixer - When you shut down your Macbook Pro, you lose connection/communication with your software. Normally what happens, as soon as you "unsleep" your laptop, your connection is restored. I have not found much success with this. SO, leave your laptop on and plugged in (change power settings if needed).

IN my situation, If the Mixer's audio does not work the decks time code will not work. It may be the same with your mixer.

Decks- Make sure you bring your timecode CDs, just in case your HID mode don't work. With my Decks, sometimes they connect fine and then other times they don't. The only thing I found to fix this issue is to reboot my software and we all know during a set...that ain't gonna happen! So have your timecode CDs and back up media (CDs, USB) ready!
