Has anyone had any joy opening the artist and Brian Clevenger .glo's that were included on the Absynth 3 Tutorial DVD in Absynth 5?

I've tried but I get an error that they are no valid .glo files.

I had a look through the legacy patches from my Abs5 installation and can't see anything that obviously comes from those banks. That said, the Absynth Legacy folder only has Native Instruments as author in the metadata so maybe the patches are in there?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    John

I don't know what's in that glo so I can't tell either if they're in the factory soundbanks. In Kore 2, the only Brian Clevinger that shows up is in Spectral Expansion. I love that Paleolithic Horn, lol.

Maybe you can attach that glo file in a post to see if someone else can see what's in it.

    Good question jeye_musik !

I was under the impression that Absynth 5 could import the older .glo format files but, I can not find any reference to that in the Absynth 5 Reference Manual !

It would be nice if it was totally backwards compatible.

But, I guess that is not the case. :S

What happens if you utilize Import GLO Bank from the file menu ?

You will also, need to check if it imports the needed samples if they are included within the patches.

Sorry about that info !

    Correction !

Page 21 from the Absynth 5 Reference Manual PDF states:

Import Glo Bank…: Opens a dialog labeled Please select a glo bank to import… allowing you to import Sounds made with older versions of ABSYNTH into ABSYNTH 5. Navigate to the desired Glo bank on your hard drive, select it and click on “Open”. You can then scroll through the list of Sounds available in this bank. The Sound selected in the list is automatically loaded in ABSYNTH 5 and you can play it. Should you wish to convert this Sound into an ABSYNTH 5 KORE SOUND*, you can save it like any other Sound via the Save/Save As… commands explained above.

Have you tried this ? :S

If any of the converted .glo presets need sample data I think that the sample(s) will have to be put in your Absynth 5 sample folder. :|

Also, if I can remember the .glo files do not include the raw sample data of the preset(s). You will need the raw sample data for the preset(s) and put it in your Absynth sample data folder. :|
