Bug Absynth 5.3.4 does not start in Windows 10 (ABS5-948)

I have tried to load Absynth 5.3.4 as standalone and this never starts. If I try to load a patch in Komplete Kontrol, the whole software crashes and Absynth is not found by Reason (11) nor Cubase Pro (11) in their VSTs. I have reinstalled the software with Native Access and that didn't help - what's wrong?

Another piece of my Komplete ultimate is FM8 that never gets started as well.

Note : these applications don't crash - they never show anything as if they never get started..

 

Have the same problem. Absynth 5.3.4 don't start and if I try to start Absyth in Komplete Kontrol then Komplete Kontrol chrases. Have as you Windows 10.

 

Super weird, it's as if something didn't install properly.

Can you try, instead of repairing in Native Access, first uninstall using the standard Windows procedure (Add/Remove Programs), then reinstalling from NA? Double-check the VST plugin paths in NA preferences before installing.

 

Thanks for the update - I tried that two times with FM8 and Absynth but unfortunately that didn't help. Also checked from Registry that under HKLM/Software/Native Instruments there was no FM8 or Absynth after uninstall (they got removed) - the behaviour after uninstall and reinstalling via Native Access was exactly the same : they don't appear in Cubase (or Reason) and standalone apps never even start correctly. I can still find them both in Komplete Kontrol (64 bit) and sound preview works but when I try to load a preset, the whole Komplete Kontrol just crashes (disappears). I also deleted %USER%\AppData\Native Instruments\FM8 and Absynth folder to get kind of "fresh" start without any previous settings but unfortunately that didn't help.

This is too bad since especially with FM8 I do like the sounds and would definitely use them if just could..

 

One weird thing I noticed : in registry under HKLM\...\Native Instrument I couldn't find Komplete 13 although I definitely have that - only entries for the older versions (of which I haven't even installed) like Komplete 8, Komplete 11 and Komplete 12 Ultimate..

 

I cannot reproduce this.
Maschine + Absynth plugin, KK and Absynth and FM8 standalone work without any problem here.
Everything running at the same time.



KOMPLETE 13 ULTIMATE Collectors Edition, also not listed in my register.

And pardon to be 'that' guy but... Windows 10 Enterprise, is that a full legit version of Windows?

Reason I'm asking is because I'm well aware of some issues and hiccups which occur with "alternative versions" so to speak. This is actually somewhat by design and in which case the only thing to do in order to work seriously with that is to get a serious version. So a legit one, either home or pro for example.

No real need to answer this question but... yah, I can't help wonder if this isn't the cause of your issues here. Seriously: the time where "Enterprise" was the "best" Windows version to get are long behind us. Unless you have a matching infrastructure to back it up there's really nothing you can do with Enterprise that you cannot do with Pro for example.

Well, I tried to run as admin and I have just one user. Also, every other instrument in my Komplete Ultimate seems to work just normally, including all the expansions and Kontakt instruments. This probably doesn't matter but I have AMD processor..here are more detailed specs of my computer:

That's not my point. The point is that most people who run illegal versions focus on Enterprise because that's "the best". And in most (definitely not all) cases where you run into Enterprise versions + common problems the issue of running an illegal outdated version can cause all sorts of ickyness.

It's actually Microsoft's new (unofficial) way of handling this: continuing to update the main Windows version(s) to such extend that some hiatus can occur if you're running behind updates.

(edit): In this case this doesn't appear to be an issue though.

 

Well, I do have licensed version of Windows 10 Enterprise as I work with this machine as well (not on music but other things) and yes, I do have all the latest updates on it as well.

 

Considering the fact that so many individual components act up I can't help wonder about hardware. What happens if you run a thorough memorytest? Does that reveal anything here?

I have the same problem: Absynth and FM8 doesn't start. Older Version works fine. I have found an entry in the windows event viewer. It seems, that booth FM8 and Absynth crashs on startup. Here is the eventlog:

This is interesting, UCRTBASE.DLL is part of C ++.
Can you check which version is on your system?

The file-version is 10.0.19041.789 from 2021-02-10 14:38. The property-page says, the file is part of the operating system.
