There's a glitch with the Absynth 5 release version where sample folders other than the default will result in a "sample not found" dialog:

    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94527

A fix is in the works. Until then, you'll need to use the factory default location for your sample folder.

    Sorry about the hassle,

I get that "samle not found" dialog, and i have not choosen to install otherwise than what absynth 5 has choosen itself, in my case it is C:\Programmer\Fælles filer\Native Instruments\Absynth 5\Samples\
So can i do anything now to get Absynt to work, or do i have to wait for the fix.

I already have tried that, and i have tried anything else...copied libraries to that directory which absynth points to in options\browser.. added the directories in options\browser that i know have those samples that absynth cannot find... i have uninstalled and reinstalled...i have contacted support, but havent got an answer yet......nothing works.

Btw. if i uninstall absynth it only uninstall 48.14 MB and not the libraries and samples directories, and if i delete those manually and reinstall, absynth does that at the exact same location.

    Try this:
    Make a folder named:
    C:\Programs\Common Files\Native Instruments\Absynth 5\Samples\
and put all samples there. Otherwise you'll have to wait to the update.

    Hope this helps

..got an e-mail from support to day....but i was only told to reinstall Absynth 5 if i could not locate the samples in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Absynth 5\Samples...but no matter how many times i uninstall and reinstall the samples goes to a folder named C:\Programmer\Fælles filer\Native Instruments\Absynth 5\Samples .
Creating C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Absynth 5\Samples and copying the samples to there also dont solve the problem.( and i have rescanned)
I have written all to support, and i now hope that i have not to wait 3 weeks again for an answer.

I just got this message:....Brian Clevinger, the developer of Absynth, is looking into this issue now, so
that this should become fixed with the first service update.

Glad now i know someone is taking care.

Now more than a month since someone wrote a comment on the topic of missing sample dialog and almost a month since i first commented it...now i am wondering how long does such and update take to be made ?. I am quite sure that if it had been CamelAudio or Wusikstation that had made such a glitch, it would have been fixed weeks ago. As it is now Absynth is completely useless for me and have been that for 1 and a 1/2 month.

    Mac?

    I'm new to Absynth.

In regards to this sample issue, where is the default sample folder on Mac?

I did a default install of Komplete 6 (but note I used an external drive for Kontakt and Battery sample libraries). The three "Samples Directories" fields in Absynth stand-alone preferences are blank. I can't find any Absynth samples (that I can identify) anywhere.

I am finding various Absynth files scattered in seemingly 10 places around my Mac in a very confusing way.

I spent 15 minutes trying to find the alleged Reference Manual to get answers to this. (A "sticky" on that subject would be a good idea BTW.)

if you go back a few posts in this thread, you will see that the default path for Absynth's samples are

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Absynth 5\Samples

Thanks -- I'm on Mac though.

I've never understood why NI doesn't have tech support people (at least anonymously) answer questions in the forums. Which is more efficient -- having 50 people search for and find the answer to their question already answered in the forums, or processing 50 individual tech support submissions?

I'm finding almost no forum activity in response to various posts I've been making in the last week or two. This is a downward spiral -- I won't be hanging around the forums if they're doing nothing for me.

It's really important in this kind of "deflationary" circumstance for a company to step in to give their forums a hand -- so they'll be more popular -- so more visitors will be around answering each others' questions -- so the company will have less work to do and will have active useful forums that make their products more valuable.

But then no one at NI is reading this...

On a Mac, the default sample path's:

    Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Absynth 5/Samples

looking for help to use NI patches with Protools 8 ? help

I bought a bunch of patch libraries for the Kore player and they work great with Cubase but I am using ptotools 8 now and can't find a way or a product to use with Protools any advise please. I am just getting a runaround.
I am thinking of just looking for some other player and start all over again.
Is there anyone who knows ?
    Thanks for any help

    Welcome =)

I don't know why you posted here with this :~
Hoqever, in answer to your question, use the RTAS version of Kore player. PT uses RTAS and not VST or AU.

    Hi there.

I have the same "A sample failed to load!" issue.
I am also on a Danish Windows like you. (The folder name 'Fælles filer' tipped me off :)), and I was just wondering if maybe international characters like our æ, ø and å is where the problem really is ?

I too hope for a quick fix from NI - even though it is too late to fix it fast by now :-(

Thank you. I think this whole issue might not be happening for Mac Absynth 5. I seem to be able to have a sample loaded from an arbitrary location. But I'm new to Absynth and not really sure...
