    Early 2009 Mac Pro, 2x2.66Ghz 6-core Xeon, 24GB ram
    OSX 10.9.2
    Pro Tools 9.0.6
Komplete 9/Absynth 5.2.0 (clean install, not an upgrade on top of an earlier version)
    Apogee Symphony IO

Everything updated with the latest drivers

If I create a new PT session, add an instrument track and try to instantiate Absynth 5 as a plugin on the instrument track, Pro Tools crashes. This is 100% repeatable, and this would also happen when I was working on an early 2011 Macbook Pro with the same software/OS. Abysnth 5 runs properly in standalone mode.

On my MBP, I had initially installed Komplete 5, which included Absynth 4. Absynth 4 worked as a plugin.

I've uploaded a pdf of Pro Tools' crash dump. Any thoughts?

did you run Absynth in Standalone MOde after updating? if you didn't please do so.

perhaps the problem is Pro Tool 9 running with Mavericks. fwiw, there are still problems with Pro Tools 10 and Mavericks which is why i am still using Mac OS 10.8.5.

my advice would be to update to Pro Tools 11.

also, you should contact NI tech support, and send them the crash report.

Anyone know why this is happening?

    Late 2012 MBP non retina
    Absynth 5.2.0
    OSX 10.8.4
    Protools 9.0.6

The minute I open it in an insert Protools crashes. This started happening after I installed Maschine 2.0....

Help would be greatly appreciated. I need to get back up and running asap.

i would update your Mac OS to 10.8.5.

did you run Absynth in Standalone Mode after updating?

have you updated Maschine to the current version which is 2.1.2.

can you run Absynth in Maschine inside Pro Tools?

oh yes, you might need to set Absynth to 32 bit to run in Pro Tools 9.
